For breathability, Shred crafts the back of the knee pad with a spandex sleeve that wicks away perspiration, while keeping the fit dialed. Lastly, the pads are topped off with a compression strap at the top to keep your fit secure, even when the ride involves a good share of pedal-mashing.

these are advertised with full mesh back and they are NOT. It's thick neoprene behind the knee crease and up. Also they are VERY short above the knee. the cut is not ergonomic, so there's a lot of weird strain behind the knee and at the top of the sleeve when pedaling. I had to heavily modify my pair by cutting up some old raceface sleeves as well as trim and sew the middle to have a more ergo knee curve. whoever designed these have no idea what they are doing because they could easily be much better.
