    Brain Box NoShock Helmet

When you're on the hunt for a full-coverage helmet that offers style, coverage, and protection, we suggest starting with the Shred Optics Brain Box NoShock Helmet. This beefy full-face uses a rugged fiberglass shell, with EPS foam designed to soak up impacts, plus Shred's own NoShock SLYTECH padding that uses a honeycomb cone structure that elevates the impact absorption properties of EPS to allow impact energy to dissipate in multiple directions, helping to reduce forces from rotational hits in specific kinds of crashes. While protection is the priority when we're getting ready for DH days, there's no fault in wanting to look rad on the trail, too, so Shred offers two unique and sleek graphics on the Brain Box to keep you covered in the style department. And since looking good will only get you so far, an XT2 layer lines the inside of the helmet for permanent odor protection.

    • A full-coverage helmet with style and protection
    • EPS foam is designed to take the brunt of impacts
    • Rotational protection is added with SLYTECH honeycomb
    • Fiberglass hard shell is burly against big hits
    • XT2 technology adds permanent odor control
    • Additional pads let you fine tune fit

    Amazing helmet

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I loved this helmet! The fit was great, and the chin strap wasn't uncomfortable in any way. I haven't ridden a lot or had tons of experience with other helmets, but this helmet did seem to be a little on the heavier side. Regardless of weight, it felt extremely secure and comforting. It also didn't overheat when riding in 80F weather.

    LOVE this thing!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this helmet only for a week, but my goodness I fell in love quick. I have a big head and this thing fit like a dream. I felt comfortable enough to not be thinking about if it would protect me or not. I love the strap under the chin a ton though. I never had to fiddle with it, it's an easy thing to strap and tighten on the go, AND was super comfortable. It breathes well and made me feel safe when riding some pretty rowdy lines.

    Very secure

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Finding a full-face helmet that fits exactly how you want it can sometimes be hard to come by. This is by far the best fitting full-face I have ever worn, plus it is extremely comfortable. The padding doe not only sit well around the face but also secures the cheekbones to ensure there is no movement.

    A bit heavy for me

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Took this helmet to Trestle Bike Park in Colorado recently and it did well enough. The fit was okay but when I tried my buddy's Fox helmet on it worked for me much better. I do have a fairly narrow head and I know that Shred's half shells tend to fit a round head better so it's possible this will work better for someone else. It's also a bit heavy compared to some others I've tried on. Sick graphics though!

    Excellent fit and breathability

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Hi! My name is Cat and I've been a Shred sponsored athlete for 3 years now and am stoked to see you're considering this lid! It's lightweight and breathable while still being a lid I confidently race DH in. In the past, I've been a sort of Goldilocks when trying helmets and it's great to find this one as just right since it comes with an interchangeable liner of different thickness for a customizable fit.

    My Go to

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this helmet for a few reasons. Fit, venting, and protection. The venting for me is important because I don't want to feel like I just went swimming after a lap or two. This is as close to running a half lid as you can get and Im very stoked on this helmet!

Love your brain? Use a Brain Box

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used the Brain Box ever since it first came out in 2015. I've also had a hand in help designing it. It's lightweight, breathable, and has the best visibility of any full face I've tried. It's given me the confidence to go big without compromising safety. Plus, it's the steeziest helmet out there and the customization of the pad inserts (different thicknesses available) is a bonus. My name is Reece and I've been sponsored by Shred for the past four years.

My Customizable Park Helmet of Choice

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Shred really made a great lightweight helmet that you can really customize your own fit with their interchangeable liner full face helmet, I have the matte black finish and it's very low key which I prefer. The helmet is very breathable in hot temps (I've ridden with it on in close to 85 degrees and it still worked well). I am very happy with how this helmet performs and fits while riding park and downhill.

    Brain box review

My name is Alan Mandel and I have been a Shred athlete since 2017. I have been using the brain box since then and I can say in confidence that it is the most comfortable helmet I have ever used! I have also had some big crashes in it and I have never had to worry about the safety of the gear.

      Awesome tech and customizable

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Besides the fact that this helmet has saved me many times, my favorite feature is the quick release buckle. I do most of my riding at a bike park so I am constantly taking my helmet on and off. I can do this with no effort while my friends have to fasten their straps each time (old school double d-ring styles). Also, with the customizable pads i was able to get a perfect fit for my head. Seriously this helmet has protected me from really bad crashes right to my head- with only scratches and gashes in the paint as an outcome, no concussions.

The helmet is compatible with a neck guard, I use Atlas.

My name is Kera and I have been riding for Shred for 1 year.
