    Crosspoint Softshell WP Glove

Unless you're from the Pacific Northwest, and actually live outside, odds are that the crew at Showers Pass spends more time riding in the rain than you. And this should give fully assure you that the Crosspoint Softshell WP Gloves will shield you from the nastiest weather that you'd ever want to ride in. Aptly named, these gloves are built from a malleable softshell material that's bonded to an OutDry waterproof, breathable membrane. Not only is it waterproof and windproof, but it also allows sweat vapor to escape.

And while they're not quite as warm as the Crosspoint Hardshell gloves, they're decidedly more versatile. Plus, there are reflective accents to improve your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions. Silicone grippers have also been added to the fingers in order to keep you in touch with your controls. Basically, if you haven't found riding gloves that are up to the task, and ski gloves are just too bulky, these gloves are right up your alley.

Not up to usual Showers Pass quality

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love Showers Pass jackets and pants. They've served me extremely well since moving to the Pacific Northwest. However, these gloves don't measure up to the quality I've become accustomed to from Showers Pass.

The size chart puts me at an L, so I tried a pair at that size a few years ago. They were *way* too small, so I had to return them. But I'm such a sucker for Showers Pass that I took a chance on another pair, this time at XL. Again, *way* too small when riding a bike with drop bars. The glove's index fingers are so short that my fingertips push into the fabric so hard that they end up tingling in 15 or so minutes due to lack of circulation.

Every other pair of gloves I've ever worn has been L or XL at the most. To have an XL be painfully small is really disappointing. They might work for hiking or some other activity, but I can't recommend them for cycling. Unless you're able to go two sizes up from your usual fit.

    Bomb Proof

Cold, windy and rainy? No freaking problem man! You're going to be high and dry with these bad boys.

They're not the warmest gloves from Showers Pass, nor are they a lightweight glove for the casual drizzle. These are heavy duty "it's horrific, cold and rainy outside, but I'm riding anyway damnit!" type of glove.

One note on sizing up, I'd lean towards sizing. The fit is snug, and if you want to use a glove liner on the coldest of cold days, you'll appreciate a little extra wiggle room by sizing up.

      Absolutely not waterproof.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I'm not sure how this manufacturer is able to use the word waterproof. With a very light rain shower these keep the hands mostly dry but in a Vancouver , BC medium rain shower the hands become damp and then progress to completely soaked. The water is not getting in from the cuff either, I have the cuffs completely covered by my jacket. The wetness starts at the tips of the fingers and then progresses to the palm. I can't imagine that they test these and if they do they must know that they are inadequate but the cost of re manufacturing them is too much so they just push them out. Disappointed.

      Hi Clayton,

This is Chris from Showers Pass. I am really sorry to hear about your poor experience with the our Soft Shell. I can assure you we did extensive testing and collaboration with the OutDry team to release a glove we could be proud of. While we are confident in our process and product that does not mean the occasional issue doesn't arise. If you got a bad pair please call or email me and we will happily get you set up with a new pair. I hope to hear from you, and potentially earn your trust as a consumer and fellow cyclist again.
