SH-RC7 Cycling Shoe - Wide
Shimano's SH-RC7 Cycling Shoe - Wide would represent its Ultegra groupset if it were components and not footwear meaning that it's within a hair's breadth of the performance of its RC9, its Dura-Ace counterpart, while saving a good chunk of change in the process. This particular version brings a race-ready shoe to those of us with wider feet needing higher volume shoes. As with its standard width version, these shoes boast a rigid and lightweight carbon composite sole and supple upper to strike a balance between high-intensity racing and training and long mile comfort with some money left in the bank so you can go race your bike.
Shimano fashions the SH-RC7s from perforated synthetic leather, selected for both its lightweight comfort as well as its ability to usher cooling air throughout the shoe. Each shoe fastens with dual, micro-adjustable Boa L6 reels, one across the top with wide anchor points to evenly distribute pressure across the upper and a midfoot one that offers micro tension adjustments of the powerzone wire guide. Underneath, a stiff carbon fiber composite sole facilitates efficient power transfer with a stiffness rating that sits at a 10 out of 12 on Shimano's scale, which means you don't have to worry about wasted watts or fatiguing sole flex.

Biking Shoes
- Familiarity:

- Fit:
- True to size

- 46

I say thus far the shoes work really well. It still feels a little snug, but no discomfort while riding my bike. I did exchange size 44 for a size 46 because it was the same as the size of my current shoes. I think my old shoes were a bit small, for it became uncomfortable during long rides. I am training indoors, so it hard for me to say how the longer rides will be on my feet.

I set them up with look cleats and they are awesome. Boa is super nice. Super light, stiff and good power transfer. Very good for hot climate. Wide fit is perfec, built quality and materials is very good.

Good, but incorrect sizing chart
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I wear between size 12 and 12.5 US. The sizing chart on this webpage equates that to a size 47 EU. For me, the shoes were a full size too large. A size EU46 would have been just right. I already had a ride planned, so I made do with them. If you have wide feet, and you order a size smaller, then they should be very comfortable.
