S-Phyre Thermal Gloves
Cold hands have caused too many rides to end prematurely, fingers clenched as we try to will warmth back to them after one lap too many of our favorite climb. Shimano’s S-Phyre Thermal Gloves provide that needed insulation to keep riding through early winter’s cool conditions. A brushed fabric provides loft to keep warm air next to your skin, while also allowing moisture to dissipate to prevent hands from feeling clammy. When the breeze picks up, the windproof back of the hand keeps us protected from the biting chill.
- An insulating glove for cool and cold days
- Brushed fabric keeps warm air next to skin to insulate
- Windproof panels protect from chill on descents
- Touchscreen-compatible thumb and forefinger allow us to multi-task

Very good gloves for 40F/5C +
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Size Bought
- L
- Height
- 5` 9"
- Weight
- 215 lbs
I have ridden with these regularly down to low 40s F/ 5C with 16mph/25kmh winds with no problems (30 miles+/50 km+ rides). Cannot comment on how waterproof they are since I don't ride in the rain but they keep away the cold effectively. I wear L as I do in my other gloves and they fit well. Yes, they are expensive (even with sale >70$) but this is part of my regular don't think about it kit. If it's below a certain temperature I always grab these for a ride and I always expect them to perform so price is secondary. I will say that I was sceptical at first when they arrived because they seemed thin but they have held up well.

Not Warm
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
Gloves have a nice feel and construction, with good fit and dexterity. However, they are just not warm. The other reviewers must have far superior metabolisms, but I'm just cold. OK pair of gloves to use in the 45-50 degree F range, but I suffer below that. Very disappointing in a $90 glove.

Excellent Dexterity
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
I love anything S-Phyre. These gloves aren’t bulky and offer great dexterity and warmth. I prefer these for 35-45° rides. I wore these one morning at 5am in 20° weather and they didn’t keep me as warm as expected, but that’s probably because the weather was simply too cold for any glove. Highly recommend these. I wear them with my S-Phyre base layers and thermal jersey.

Great warmth, slightly weird fit
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- Runs small
Gloves are really good, wore them on rides ranging from 30° to 50°, they were sufficiently warm in the former, but not too sweaty during the latter. Only weird thing is the fit, the measurements implied that I’d need a large, but it’s maybe a quarter to half size small, but I suppose it’ll break in. Cuff’s a little tight, it didn’t fit over my thicker jacket sleeves but worked perfectly with my warmers.

I rode three hours in 40 degrees and wind chill in the 30's and my hands did not get cold. Great fit also if you follow the fit guide from Shimano.
