Why We Like The RC5 Limited Edition Cycling Shoe
Shimano aims to mitigate foot pain and boost support with its mid-range RC5 Cycling Shoe. They feature the trusted Shimano last you've gotten to know, with just the right balance of width and arch support, and are crafted from durable synthetic leather uppers that don't flex and stretch with time. Plus, mesh panels make for a huge boost in breathability should your toes warm up as the temps rise. The uppers secure around your foot like a warm hug thanks to a combination of a Boa and hook-and-loop strap that helps disperse pressure away from the instep, while eliminating wiggle room for support through every part of your pedal stroke. While lighter-duty soles can create flex that's comfortable, that flex wastes watts of energy, so Shimano builds the RC5 with a carbon-reinforced nylon sole that boosts stiffness, allowing every watt of power to go straight to the pedals.

Toebox tight; Credit return a real pain
- Size Bought
- 5` 9"

Ordered these to upgrade from an older pair of Shimano road shoes that needed to be replaced. The toe box was very constricting & pinched both feet. I even went up an EU size from my older pair to allow for the slightly different toe box design. Here’s where my dissatisfaction arose: I received an online RMA to return the shoes and cleats and did so by UPS, knowing per Competitive’s site that it would cost me $6.99 on a 175.99 shoes & cleats order, for a net of $169.00. Would rather have had free returns, but I could live with that. UPS confirmed receipt by Competitive (CC) a few days later, but 4 days later CC hadn’t sent me an email (per their web site) stating they had the returns. So I texted them; after maybe 40 minutes of back n forth including providing the UPS tracking and RMA #s was told it was received, that the processing was backed up and the credit would be initiated. After another 5 days I opened a dispute w my credit card company and told them via text that I was doing so. A few hours later a text arrived that they were processing the credit which per their site, should have been for $169.00. Well…it wasn’t, it was for $168.54. What chicken shit! They charged me 3 days before they shipped the original order and they shorted me some piddling amount on the return. Never again!

If these shoes don't fit would I be able to get a full refund upon returning them?
