For speedier shifts.
Slow shifting is a bummer, and there are lots of reasons for it, but if you've eliminated derailleur problems, cassette issues, and general grime as the culprits, it might be time to replace your shift cables and housing with Shimano's Dura-Ace OT-SP41 Polymer-Coated Derailleur Cable. The housing is pre-lubed with silicone grease for smooth, stick-free shifting, and the polymer coating on the cable allows it run even more smoothly. Even the end caps are sealed, which prevents dirt and grime from sneaking in and gunking up the system.

Awful
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These things start frizzing almost immediately -- one took a couple months, the other literally started the moment i installed it -- and they soon start looking like shaggy mammals. Terrible for appearance. Then the polymer startts bunching up in clumps and interrupting your shifting. Shimano acknowledges the cosmetic issue, but claims it does not affect performance. I beg to differ. This is the worst cycling product i have purchased in years.

THE best cables out there
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
When Shimano released their 11 speed Dura Ace groupset, they quietly introduced these new cables, but they should have been more public about them. These things are SLICK. I add them to any build I am doing to get a snappier, lighter shift feel. Yes, you pay a premium, but it is totally worth it, and due to the polymer coating, the cables do not rust nearly as quickly so they last way longer as long as you don't powerwash your bike.

If you have to have cables, get these!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Cables can make or break the riding experience, so don't overlook them! Electronic may be the future, but until then do yourself a favor and get these for the next tune up. I've been through most of the cable sets available and keep coming back to the Dura Ace Polymers. Shimano puts more energy into the finer details than most in the business and it shows.

"I can't believe it's not butter"-Fabio
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The 1990s icon and Margarine salesman once stated "I can't believe it's not butter", and this quote applies to these cables. They are so smooth. It feels like you are slicing through butter when shifting. The best cables!

These are some of the smoothest cables you can buy. I use these on all of my bikes.

GOAT IS GOOD
Decided to try out the new XT M8000 11speed stuff. In a moment of weakness, splurged for this Dur-acci shift cable. It works great—as expected. Not sure its better than my typical fav jagwire cable but… Going with 4/5 just due to value… You won’t be disappointed in this though

Best Cables

First upgrade I made to my new road race bike. Absolutely the best for "like-new" shifting for the long haul. Would not run anything else.

Do these cables include the plastic furrell that goes into the rear derailleur adjusting barrel? From the pictures, it looks like it does not. Also are these the "Dura-Ace SP41" brand or the "Shimano SP41" which on most sites seems to be the generic replacement. Is there a pre-cut short rear derailleur housing?

Hi Charles, This does include a front and rear cable and enough housing for both as well. You will also need to order the braking kit if you are doing a complete bike. I hope this helps.
