Di2 SW-R600 Remote Climbing Shifter
Climbing can be brutally hard, but if you have to fight slow shifting as well as gravity, friction, and fatigue? Forget about it. Shimano's Di2 SW-R600 Remote Climbing Shifter makes getting through you electronic gears a breeze, though, with a design that zip-ties onto your handlebars for easy access when you're cranking up your favorite (or most hated) climbs. With this unique setup, you'll be able to shift without moving your hands up to the hoods, which can be slow, sketchy, and uncomfortable, and you'll also be able to count on the killer precision of an electronic drivetrain. The cable is hard-wired into the remote for easy installation, and the SW-R600 is compatible with Dura-Ace 9070, Ultegra 6770, and Ultegra 6870 groupsets.

Great for climbing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This is a great remote shifter for climbing on the tops. It is easy to install. Once you find the best position on your tops to attach it, it makes climbing while on the tops a breeze. No more moving my hand to the hood to down shift while climbing. The buttons are programmable so you can choose which one shifts down the cassette and which one shifts up the cassette.

Threw this on my new UDi2 bike and haven't looked back. Convenient location when climbing on the tops. Clean install plugging into the right lever. Just be sure you're in the right front right before you begin your climb.

Could I use separate shifters to control the front and rear derailluers on my tt bike? Also, what are the dimensions of the unit?

To function does this plug into the junction box (5 port) or does it go into the shifter?

I recommend this excellent synopsis on the entire Di2 system: http://carltonbale.com/shimano-di2-everything-you-need-to-know/ From that link, which answers your question: "[SW-R600 Remote Climbing Shifters] can be used in addition to the Dual Control Brake Lever/Shifter, or can be used on their own by plugging directly into a SM-EW90-A 3-Port Junction or SM-EW90-B Dura-Ace 5-Port Junction."

Using the E-tube software, or the older programmer, I'm led to understand that you can programme these shifter s for front or rear derailleur. In fact my LBS reckons you could probably right it to put the kettle on. Not sure the weight penalty for that option would be worth it, though
