Man Gel Flow Saddle
We know saddles are a personal preference so instead of
assuming something is going to work for you we'll instead hit you with the
details of the Man Gel Flow Saddle from Selle Italia and let you decide if it's
what you're after. It's designed for the male anatomy and the saddle's
dimensions are 151mm wide and 275mm long. That's a touch wider than the average
racing saddle offering a little more support especially for those with wider
sit bones. Underneath its full-grain leather cover is some additional padding,
again relative to the typical racing saddle, for increased comfort over those
longer rides.
The Flow anatomic cut out helps relieve pressure on the areas of soft tissue, helping reduce numbness, and allows for greater flexibility at the nose of the saddle, while the thin layer of silicone gel adds a touch more comfort over rougher roads. Further defense against road vibrations comes from the shock absorption system placed between the rails and the shell. Finally, the rails are constructed out of chromoly and manganese alloy for a little more tuned flex and helps to get the saddle in at 285-grams, impressive given the amount of comfort features instilled in it.

Cervelo R2 Selle Italia Saddle
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
- Height
- 6` 0"
- Weight
- 213 lbs
I purchased my original Sellie about three years ago after riding on the seat that was on the bike when I purchased my first Cervelo R2. The Sellie offers superior quality and comfort and is great for the cyclist that ride long distances on a variety of surfaces. Liked the seat so much that I purchased the exact same seat for my new Cervelo Caledonia. Excellent product

Comfort with no downside
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is my 3rd Selle Italia saddle. The my 2nd lasted 8 years. I'm not a fan of the tortuous racing saddles, having experiecned the total lack of any thought for comfort. I'm not a racer but I out a lot of miles on my cross bike and I can honestly say I would never again consider a saddle other than Selle. I am obviously a big fan. One other thing, as I mentioned its been 8 years since I bought a Selle and the deign and quality have only gotten better.

Comfy at a great price
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I needed a new saddle to replace the one that came on my Raleigh Tripper. After debating between a few on sale I decided to try this one and I'm glad I did. Some might see the 151 width and immediately look elsewhere, but give it a second look first. This saddle is supportive but yet comfortable. I'm on the big side (6'0, 230lbs.) and this works well for me. Using the at-home damp paper method my sit bones actually measure out to me using a saddle in the 140 width range. I hate putting saddles on bikes. As a side benefit the cutout in the middle of the saddle made installing it much easier as I was able to see the bolts from the top and hold things in place better while tightening everything down. Other saddles that I like, and use on my other bikes, are the WTB Rocket and Specialized Rival 143. So far I like this one the best of the three.
