Kronos Tekno Flow S Saddle

The Kronos Tekno Flow S Saddle has a unique look to it, no doubt about it. The looks come as a design function to create a high-performance saddle for the steep seat-tube-angle, and the more forward the better world of TT and Tri bikes. Selle Italia spent a lot of time analyzing the rider's position and designed the Kronos with some important details to impart both comfort and performance for folks interested in disciplines where racing against the clock require a fit that creates aggressive hip and back angles employed on an aero bike. It sports the modern snub nose shape and measurements for that all-important support required when putting power directly into the pedals, while remaining lightweight and keeping the pressure on sensitive regions at bay. Selle Italia utilizes carbon fiber for the shell and rails and on top of the cover, a non-slip surface holds you firmly into position without resorting to applying grip tape to your saddle as TT specialist and multi-time TT World Champion Tony Martin so famously did. This saddle is the narrower of the two Kronos Tekno Flow saddles catering to those who prefer a more narrow saddle or have sit bones that are closer together.

It would appear that a stiff saddle wouldn’t be of much comfort, but that comfort lies in its foundation and shape. A squishy saddle robs you of power so, Selle Italia uses a 100% carbon shell, which is split all the way to the nose for pressure relief. The shape was carefully designed to allow for unrestricted leg movement and reduced friction and the shell attaches to the 7mm x 9mm Carbo-Keramic solid rails creating a stable platform for laying down the watts, while the carbon fiber provides the damping characteristics preventing premature fatigue by filtering road noise. Padding is bonded to the carbon shell and covered with its Fibra-tek synthetic microfiber cover. Underneath the cutout, a flexible rubbery netting provides a cool airflow and allows any water to escape if you are transitioning from the swim.
