As for the downhill, well you'd be hard-pressed to find a plank more versatile for the backcountry's ever-changing conditions. You won't sit out the days without powder, which is good because this ski rides both soft and firm conditions with equal zeal. The rocker tip and tail obviously ride powder like a dream—not to mention the way the swallowtail makes all that snow fly in the air—but there's enough camber to employ tight turns and hold an edge when you're cruising down firm snow through trees. Sego added plenty of carbon and VDS rubber to keep vibrations and chatter down to a minimum when you reach higher speeds.
