Why We Like The Walking Ankle Waterproof Merino Sock

Instead of relying on our boots to take the brunt of the torrent, we can slip on SealSkinz Walking Ankle Waterproof Merino Sock to add an extra layer of waterproof protection. It uses a 3-layer design with a mid-layer membrane—just like our high high-end rain jackets do—to wick moisture, enhance comfort, and stop water from creeping in.

Expensive but highly functional

These are the most expensive socks I will ever buy. However, I was very satisfied with the performance of these seal skinz on the Pacific Crest Trail. They were able to manage to keep my feet dry despite wearing soaked breathable trail runners for hours while post-holing in the snow through the High Sierras and stepping through shallow snowmelt floods on the trail. They are very nice to have while hiking in the Pacific northwest for all of the unpredictable rain, wet overgrown plants that hold rain droplets for days, and the cool weather and lack of sun that keep gear from drying. I was able to hike in them for up to 6-8 hours before having to swap out from sweat buildup. No regrets with this gear splurge.
