    Coziness in a cold world.

Sometimes it's worth it to add a little extra weight for a lot of extra warmth. The Sea To Summit Comfort Light Insulated Sleeping Pad keeps you warm and comfy on cold nights, and at well under two pounds it's still lightweight enough for backpacking.

Air Sprung cells evenly distribute pressure so the pad conforms to your body for a comfier feel than with traditional baffle construction. Thermolite insulation traps warm air and protects you from the cold ground, and Exkin Platinum thermal technology uses a super thin lightweight metalized layer to reflect heat back to your body for even more cozy goodness. The Hybrid-layer design uses dual-layer construction in the torso for maximum comfort and insulation, and single-layer construction in the head and legs keeps weight down and increases packability. The tough, 40D nylon face resists tears so it doesn't get shredded by rocky terrain.

The multi-function, one-way valve makes inflation easier, and it has a button you can press to slowly release air for fine-tuned comfort. A rapid air dump port lets you deflate the pad quickly when you're ready to pack up camp. It also comes with a stuff sack for convenient storage and a repair kit so you can fix rips when you're out in the middle of nowhere.

    Dope pad!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this for some summertime trips, there's not really a need for the insulation but it doesn't hurt. It packs pretty small, maybe the size of a waterbottle/nalgene, but it's light weight! The pump system is easy, it just takes a little time. Snag it!

    Solid Pad

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Feedback from a friend who had never been backpacking before: "The pros of the sleeping pad were that it was light weight and easy to inflate. The cons were that the pad made a lot of noise when I moved around at night, and it did not provide that much comfort when I slept on it. I didn’t get the best or worst sleep of my life on the pad. My sleep was just average. "

I probably should have set him up with a thicker pad on his first time. Honestly wasn't that loud (I slept right next to him for three nights and am light sleeper.) Being the good friend that I am, I used a 4" pad, the Sea To Summit Ether Light XT Insulated Sleeping Pad on the same trip (I have a bad back). It's the same brand, comparable weight, and packs down to the same dimensions. Not sure why you wouldn't just get that one.

    Awesome sleeping pad

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super quick to inflate, doesn't take much air at all. It's pretty thin compared to some pads and I thought that might compromise some of the comfort but on the contrary, I think this pad is just as comfortable as any other that may be thicker. High R-Value keeps you nice and insulated at night however I have not tested the pad in temps lower than upper 40's. In the new models, your stuff sack also doubles as an air pump making inflation even easier!
