If you need a long spork

When you need to reach to the bottom of that last bite of breakfast pack... ~~ it's super light and I like the angle of the spork. Stored properly with my other utensils it's great~!

Great spoon but I have reservations

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is probably the best spoon i’ve seen for eating out of the very tall backpackers pantry or mountain house bags, it’s incredibly light and easy to use, as it is a spoon. Should be said, I do have my reservations about it bending in my pack though, so I can’t give it 5 stars for piece of mind.

Good, but could be better

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Often times the spoon almost develops a gritty covering after eating hot meals. Not sure if that is a reaction or if the food just likes to accumulate on the material. Would recommend a different variation. Very light though.

nice

My husband was so thrilled to get this, along with a variety of other camping accessories for Christmas! We have been wanting to replace some of our camping gear for easier packing. This is a perfect addition!

I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Christmas Gift, looks to be a handy spork.

Nice

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Not much to say but these are lightweight and durable. The included mini carabiner is a nice bonus, too. I managed to get the long spork and I’m stoked to now be able to get to the bottom of a backpacking meal without getting leftovers on the knuckles.

Awesome, lightweight utensils

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are great! Lightweight, they seem strong, easy to wash, and fit perfectly in my X-Set (Sea to Summit mess kit) bag. Can't really ask for much more than that.

The last bit of Chili Mac

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This spoon is for when you're sitting at a fire sharing a 2-serving meal of Chili Mac and your friend hands you back the package, *but* you discover that all that tasty Chili Mac is stuck in the corner of the massive pouch. Getting that mac on your hand just won't do, your a civilized person. Instead you use the super-long handle of the Sea to Summit lightweight spoon to finish it off.

Functional

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

It's light, durable, and long enough to dig deep into your pouched food. Can't really ask for more.

Perfection

Never leave home without these. I bring them to work, school, and on every adventure. Easy to use and clean, carabiner keeps them together and stashed on your pack or person. They are a must have.

Perfect for scooping

Familiarity:

Death to single use plastic utensils. Lightweight and perfect for soups, stews, and chowders. Best used right-handed.

Super light and long handles

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Very lightweight silverware. I know everyone just says "get a spork and be done with it" but I like having separates. Plus the long handles are a plus for deep food packets.

Light weight deep Scoops

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought the long spoon to use with my dehydrated food packets. This spoon does a great job reaching the bottom of the bag without getting your hands dirty. The super light weight is an added bonus too.

Lightweight and Effective

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

A+ for weight on a long backpacking trip. These utensils get the job done and so light you won't notice them at all in your pack. Handles are nice and long so as not to burn your fingers on hot stuff. The mini carabiner is a convenient touch, too.

Does the job

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Delivers food to my mouth with minimal effort. Strong, light...it works.

>Rating: 5

Just what I needed

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Light, durable, and perfect for eating food around a campfire or at my desk at work. I usually use freeze dried meals when backpacking and got tired of carrying around cheap plasticware or heavier metal utensils. A friend recommended this and I have not been disappointed. Extremely easy to clean hasn't gotten scratched up or bent from being loose in my pack.

my sea to summit spork survived my trip...

my sea to summit spork survived my trip and upon washing changed and appears to have a dull gray spotty "film" on it. Looks / feels dirty. How can I restore?

Hand-wash it with Comet and a brass scouring pad.

G'Day Bob - Barry from Sea to Summit here. It sounds like you may have washed your AlphaLight Spork in a dishwasher. If so, the caustic chemicals in the dishwasher 'soap' will have stripped the anodized finish from the Spork. Please contact me directly at barry@seatosummit.com and I'll work out a solution with you. If the anodized finish has been stripped from the utensil it should not be used. And - to everyone else out there, PLEASE DO NOT USE COMET OR WIRE WOOL ON ANODIZED ALUMINUM UTENSILS - this will destroy the anodized finish. I trust this helps cheers Barry Sea to Summit Customer Relations Manager

Can you use these in nonstick pans?

Can you use these in nonstick pans?

Since these utensils are metal, I wouldn't recommend using them with coated/nonstick surface cookware. Stick with plastic(lexan) or wood. There are now lightweight bamboo spoons available. They are both durable & lightweight. Here's more information: http://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering/prod_details.tpc?prodId=16748&catId=179&parentCatId=179&outletSubCat=&viewAllOutlet=

In the description of the sea to summit...

In the description of the sea to summit alpha light utensils tech specs say's 1 spoon, 1 fork, 1 knife. That means we get all three for $5.90?

No, you just get one. The Spork, the spoon, the short spoon, or the long spoon. I'm not sure why it even mentions a knife, guess maybe it's sold out.

If you purchase the "Alpha Set" for $14.90, you will get all options minus the long spoon. This often sells out first. http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/76
