Science in Sport's GO Hydro Plus Caffeine Tablets gives you exactly what you need for short, intense activities or just prior to the finish of an endurance event. Each tablet contains 300mg of electrolytes to replace what is lost in sweat with only 0.8g of carbohydrates and virtually no calories. Sodium is the most important electrolyte lost and if levels are not replenished, dehydration can occur and performance certainly drops. Additionally, 75mg of caffeine is added which helps increase endurance performance by providing a mental boost and improving alertness and concentration. Caffeine has also been shown to increase fat utilization for fuel effectively sparing carbohydrate stores for later use.
They simply dissolve in 500mL of water and can be used to hydrate and provide a mental kick before exercises or on rides under 90 minutes when caloric intake isn't necessary. It's recommended to add GO Electrolyte or GO Gel to your diet for longer rides.

Nice but taste lingers in containers
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These are good, flavors are on point (except Mango Pineapple, yuck). The Cola one tastes, unsurprisingly, like a flat coke, which can be weird. NO, strike that, it IS weird. Maybe if mixed with seltzer?? (lol). I suppose they do give a nice dose of electrolytes and carbs. My biggest complaint that I never noticed with the NUUN tabs is that for whatever reason the flavors really linger in bottles. I now have two designated "flavored bottles" that are permanently stained with the flavor of these things, no matter how many washes or trips thru the dishwasher I do.

Portable, affordable, and it works
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
What more can you ask for here. First, they come in a variety of flavors. When I bought these on sale, they were a great value on a per serving basis. Similar to the SIS gels, these seems to work really well for me. They do seem to create a slightly carbonated solution once they dissolve. In the past, other drinks like this have created some gastrointestinal distress, but not this supplement. Finally, there is no measuring -just drop a tablet in your water bottle and no garbage to dispose of like a gel. Overall, I give 2 thumbs up.
