    Putting the X in Cyclocross.

Built with speedy cyclocross courses in mind, the Schwalbe X-One Tubeless Tire features a moderate tread worthy of a wide range of conditions. It pairs the low PSI and puncture-resistance of tubeless with a beefy 33mm width to soak up the bumps. The combination of a wide stance and lower tire pressure makes for increased ground contact, which pairs with the fast rolling OneStar compound for confident grip in corners and an overall smoother ride than narrower tires. Schwalbe's MicroSkin construction adds durability to the X-One, helping the tire resist ill-intentioned goat heads and other course debris so you get through the race flat-free.

    Are "gravel" tires really better?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm on my second set of x-ones and I have to say I am left wondering if "standard" cross tires are underrated in the era of all this gravel and 40c when it comes to tires. First, I'll say that like other Schwalbe tires I've used these are a joy to set up tubeless and hold air extremely well once set up.

Beyond the basics, I really am pleased to have this tires back on my bike. I'm a tire junky and have run the Flintridge, Clement MSO, G-One and Sector 32 just this year. I have to say I am completely in love with the Sector 32 but took them off for winter/urban/ghetto cross riding. Making the change from slicks I love, I was pleasantly surprised when I went back to the X-One. The G One is a great tire, and fast, but lacks some bite. The MSO is also a great tire. However, The X-one is both grippy and surprisingly fast. I really feel like my friend with 40c tires are working much harder than they need to be!

Great tire and more than just for cross racing.

    I like them

These are very grippy in the mixed terrain I run them in. Loose, chewed up dirt corners, wet and dry grass, asphalt, gravel. They haven't seen too much mud but I have yet to push these beyond their limits and I can hang with most Cat 2 cross racers. I have the tubeless on Stan's Iron Cross.

Not Trust worthy, 2 cut/torn sidewalls

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These tires roll fabulous on grass, hard-pack, and asphalt. But.....
I cannot recommend spending your money on this product however as I have found the sidewalls tear/cut far too easy. I have managed to tear the sidewall on two separate tires in just a couple hundred miles. Last night was the most recent while turning on a tame grass track. They were mounted tubeless Stans Wheels and the cut/tear is so large that it will have to be replaced. The first tire was setup with a tube and it made contact with a stick causing it to fail.

      Great CX Tires

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Setup: Running these tubeless on HED Ardennes+ rims

I've done some drills and hot laps in the local park and these performed really nicely. Today I took them to a local park with trails that are very cx friendly. I put them through big open fields, wet grass early in the morning, some off camber turns, single track, roots, a few rocks, and some sand. These tires rolled fast when I needed it and gripped up great in the single track. They floated through the sand nicely as well (didn't get bogged down at all). And possibly my favorite part...they never got clogged up no matter where I went.

If you are looking for one cx tire to handle everything you've got to try these out.

Only downside - I seem to have a small lump in the front tire that hasn't smoothed out yet. I only notice it at 20mph on some pavement. Never noticed it on the trails.
