    Quick and capable.

Quick rolling and capable, the Schwalbe Rocket Ron Addix 29in tire is ready to take on whatever terrain you throw its way. Its open tread pattern with small, but grippy knobs keep you going fast with low rolling resistance, and larger shoulder lugs reach out for control in corners. The open tread pattern is stellar for shedding mud, and SnakeSkin sidewalls protect you from punctures and slashes from branches, rocks, and debris. The tire is made from Schwalbe's Addix Speedgrip compound, their most capable compound, great for all weather conditions and terrain. The Addix Speedgrip replaces their previously known and loved PaceStar compound, with superior damping, grip, and hugely increased durability.

    • Light weight and quick rolling XC tire for versatile riding
    • Open tread pattern sheds mud and grips where needed
    • Addix Speed compound is durable with low rolling resistance
    • Versatile 2.25in tire fits most 29ers and rolls fast
    • Item #SCH002I

Still a great ride, now longer wearing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Not looking to start a fight in the review section, but my own experience with these tires has been pretty much the opposite of the previous reviewer's in every single way. I used the old RR in both Snakeskin and Liteskin versions. This version is indistinguishable for grip and tread profile from my perspective. Just as fast, just as predictable. What is noticeable is tread wear. After about 600 miles, these tires still look nearly fresh. The previous versions, in my experience, started to really show significant wear after a few hundred miles.

Also, I've read in a lot of places that Schwalbe tires are flat-prone. I've ridden all over Pisgah with these tires, and done quite a bit of rocky and rough riding, and plenty of gravel, in my own backyard. In 3 years and probably 2000 miles on the Snakeskin casing, I've had one puncture.

    Utterly disappointed w/addix.

The addix casing feels dead and lifeless. They are so stiff that schwalbe has taken all the feel out them. All this technology put into a tire and it is worse than the original Evo Ron that was amazing. The tread design feels more rounded than the original and does not inspire confidence on my Enve 50/50 rims. After flatting on a gravel road with all the extra protection and weight, I have called it quits with Schwalbe and Rocket Ron.
