Vapor Climbing Shoe

Scarpa revamped the Vapor Climbing Shoe with a technical prowess that excels on crimpy routes, subtle overhangs, and even thin cracks. Its suede and microfiber upper uses minimal stitching to eliminate hot spots, and the padded tongue enhances comfort on long climbs. Scarpa's Bi-Tension randing keeps the Vapor at a moderate downturn, and the Flexan midsole helps the shoe stay stiff for life. Vibram's XS Edge rubber gives this shoe a good grip on granite edges, slippery limestone, and soft sandstone alike.

  • Climbing shoe optimized for technical faces and thin cracks
  • Moderate downturn excels on vertical to subtly overhung climbs
  • Vibram XS Edge sole has a sharper edge for better grip on crips
  • Microsuede upper improves fit by stretching to your foot shape
  • Bi-Tension rand maintains a moderate downturn for life

Street size 42 / I have tested a number of shoes from Sportiva, Scarpa, 5.10, etc. and this shoe fits my low volume heel and average to wide forefoot very well. No annoying stitching means no hotspots.. I have enjoyed the fit of the Skwama(39ish) and TC pro(40ish) most recently but this shoe feels almost made for my foot(I have the slightest Morton’s toe). Fairly stiff and edges super well.. Good on anything but less than ideal for overhung.. For reference, it’s more stiff than the older vapor laces and retains it’s shape better. Also, the toebox is slightly less asymmetrical. I went down a size from street size(42 to 41) and this is a perfect tight sport climbing fit. Some knuckling with a secure heel fit. I could go down another half size for hard sends and am thinking about buying at street size for easier terrain. Laces are long but just put a couple of knots in them and they’re good. Only time will tell on durability and I do potentially see the toe rubber not holding up as well as other shoes. So far, so good..
