Ribelle Tech HD Mountaineering Boot

Designed in part with the late Ueli Steck, the Scarpa Men's Ribelle Tech HD is a hybrid boot that combines elements of running and mountaineering footwear for ultralight, high-output alpinism. Scarpa's new Sock-Fit Plus integrates waterproof, breathable HDry and warm Primaloft insulation in a seamless, stretchy, superlight gaiter that balances fast-moving performance with absolute weather protection. The external upper is similar to the original Ribelle HD's burly, rugged, and well-ventilated upper. Underfoot, the Ribelle features a complex series of Vibram rubber lugs, a light-yet-supportive midsole, and semi-automatic crampon compatibility.

I have 3 other pairs of mountaineering boots, 3 others are Scarpa now and one Asolo. So I’m pretty familiar with my boots, I hike through some of the most intense terrain my state has to offer and these boots will hold up easily with my other mountaineering boots! Except if you are unfortunate enough to walk into a cactus the sock doesn’t do much lol but it does offer some protection for sure! I am still amazed at how light weight these are! I cannot get over it every time I move my feet it feels like a running shoe but with the power and stability of a mountaineering boot!! They are completely waterproof which is a big deal to me the sock and whole shoe do an outstanding job at keeping the water out! You could stand in a puddle or river indefinitely as long as it doesn’t go over the sock but even if it does since the sock is a tight fit it will keep water out BRIEFLY! So if you fall in your not totally screwed which is incredible!! There isn’t enough good things I could say about this boot it is truly amazing! My only and I mean only complaint is that the locking mechanism is plastic but it feels ver sturdy and I’ve had zero problems with it yet.
