After many yrs of good use, my Asolo's blew out the week before a trip to Grand Tetons & Yellowstone. Knowing it was a mistake to break in boots on a big trip, I had no choice. The Mojitos were FANTASTIC. Flexible sole is great for moderate trails. Easy for groomed path walking too. Walked 50+ miles in the week and boldly brought no other shoes but these. I may upgrade the inner sole as it is a bit thin. It definitely gives you good foot to ground feel & connection as is. Laces are pretty flexible, so I may upgrade those.

These shoes are really fantastic, bought them for travel to eliminate need for multiple shoes. Very comfortable and supportive, only had them a short time but like them very much. Bought a size 47 as I wear a 13 running shoe, fit perfect.

First, I am pleased that I could get a shoe in size 12.5. Not found in most mass market products. We have only had a few warm days and as I had hoped these lightly lined shoes were cool and comfortable. The more I wear them the better they feel. Their rugged sole performed well on loose chunky gravel ... and smooth sidewalks. I have a feeling that my Zen’s will last a lot longer as these will get the call for most moderate jaunts.

This is my third pair of Mojitos, going back 4 years. The soles are super sticky, even on wet rock. Not much support, and not very warm, but they’re not really supposed to be, they do accommodate thicker socks though. They’re nice because the style allows you to go from trail to town without looking like you just came from either. Love ‘em, will keep buying them as long as Scarpa keeps making them.

Very Uncomfortable
This shoe is especially narrow and I find it rubs at sock seams on little toes.. I had to buy special socks with no seams to wear them.. cheaper than new approach shoes.. however.. now I'm just going to trash these things and try a different brand.. too uncomfortable to put up with on long approaches

I love good shoes and just bought this pair after reading various reviews. The shooes meet my needs - quality, comfort, and price. I like how they hug my feet and have cushiony heels. I walk for work a lot (UPS driver) and had an issue with plantar fasciitis, but thanks to these shoes I no longer have issues with it. Was so impressed with the mojitos that decided to get another pair of Scarpas - Conifer gtx. Totally impressed! Go Scarpa!

I just bought a new pair of these. They look great when clean and I have primarily worn these as my winter casual dress shoes, great grip on snowy streets.. Last year I took my 3 year old pair on two11 mile hikes, Half Moon Pass - Aspen to Crested Butte and back, and they were wonderful! I did the hike again this year, same pair of Mojitos, but on the return I was solo and RAN the 11 miles. I thought I'd pay for it, but no blisters and comfortable feet the whole way. Love these shoes!!!

Best shoe ever , I’ve worn two pairs down to nothing and still were waterproof and ruber was super sticky no slips . They will eventually form nicely to your feet , they are super reliable strong and aggressive absolutely water proof, only (Gore-Tex version) . I use them mostly for Mountain bike exploring and hiking .

Perfect shoe for me
- Familiarity:

This is the third pair of this shoe I bought - different colors. I have to order them 46.5 instead of 44.5, my normal shoe size. They fit and wear perfectly, also the soles do not slip as easily as others on gravel and scoria. Unfortunately Backcountry sent me not a brand new pair this last time and I had to exchange it. They were good about it, but the whole process cost me about $20 plus 1-2 hours time. I might buy with Amazon again next time.

Comfortable. I am in love with the full shoe lacing. I have redonkulous wide feet! The lacing made it possible to let room in wear I need it. The suede upper is really soft and after a few days has molded to my feet. . The rubber on the bottom looks really durable and I believe these shoes will hold up great. I am stoked to find a shoe that fits and performs where I need it to, to the Crag and to the Pub.

It's hard to believe but the reviews are accurate. These are very comfortable and great for long periods of walking or light hiking. I wore them 10+ hours a day on my feet and found them better than any running shoes I have ever owned. Size 45 fit my narrow size 11 foot perfectly with thin socks. Best walking shoes I have ever owned.

This shoe functions just as advertised, you feel like you're barefoot when you wear it. The leather molds to your foot. I use it to hike and rock climb in the Jocasse Gorges and find it very light weight and versatile. It's also very comfortable to wear around the house. My foot is narrow and it fits perfectly. Would highly recommend this odd looking shoe to anyone.

Great shoe, very comfortable if you have a “Scarpa” foot. Lacing does look a little bowling shoe-ish but you’ll get past that once you put them on. Very versatile as a knock around shoe. One downside for me is that, in winter, my feet are cold in them. Sticky soles will be great on rock!

Great shoes, questionable looks

I used these shoes to walk on pavement and snow and I have found that they fit to my foot very well and they provide sufficient (stiff) support for walking. Unlike other reviews, I feel that these shoes do not have a good look. I didn't initially notice it when when I ordered them, but since the laces go almost all the way down to the toes, they make the shoe look like bowling shoes. The laces may help the shoe fit better, but they do look slightly silly.

These shoes are intended for scrambling approaches to alpine rock climbs, and for moderate rock climbing. That is why the laces go down near the toes, same as for rock climbing shoes. The laces down to the toes are necessary for adjustintg the tightness of fit in the toe area to enhance climbing performance. The wearer tightens the toe laces for rock climbing, and loosens the toe laces for hiking.

I have a reputation for simply wrecking shoes. I'm on my feet in my job a lot and I often have heavy gear with me, but I'm expected to look nice (slacks and button up) I tend to gravitate to approach shoes because I like the fit, style and durability and I have tried several brands from Teva to 510, lasportiva, etc. These are the most durable shoes i have ever owned. over a year later (when my shoes are normally toast) they look brand new, and I still wear them to the office, or out on a shoot, or hiking...where ever. The fit is slim and conforming like I like, the support is just right for me and wear is beyond reproach. I just ordered another set to make sure I have a replacement set handy for when these eventually do die. Honestly worth every penny. my bike shoes are 42.5 and i bought 42. They were snug at first but now fit great.

I've always found that my Scarpas run narrow, especially in the toe box. Depending on your socks and if you'll be doing a lot of descending, I would say to go up from 1/2 to a full size bigger.

October 27, 2013
I agree with Phil. I normally wear a 10D or 10EE which is roughly 43.0 or 43.5 and found that 44.0 fit me in the Zens and 2 other Scarpas I own.

I'm wondering about the Men's vs. Women's version of this shoe. Is it just a feminine vs. masculine colors, or is there in fact a difference between the shoes themselves? Are the Men's wider than the Women's or different in any other way? If 41 fit me in the Women's size, would 41 Men's fit exactly the same?

Looks like men's and women's versions may be the same, just that women's sizes aren't expansive as men's, but their color selection is much larger. Scarpa Italy Mojito page: http://en.scarpa.net/products/lifestyle/mojito/ Damn. I wish those Parrot colored ones were available in size 45 (or that the Splash colored ones were available in the US!). Who is it that decided that men's shoes have to be so bland? I demand color!

My "E" width foot fits fine in these. I think the lacing to the toe allows for quite a bit of adjustment
adnan11!
November 26, 2011
Andrew I would be very surprised if you found these too narrow, they feel like having a pair thick socks on rather than shoes, and it feels as though the streets are carpetted
Jordan M.
December 14, 2012
I have an "E" foot as well, and the width is just perfect in the Mojito shoe. My heel runs a bit narrower, but doesn't pose a problem either. The down-to-toe lacing really helps adjust the fit of these shoes to a variety of foot shapes.
