Why We Like The Instinct SR Climbing Shoe

The Scarpa Instinct S Climbing Shoe combines a downturned toe with the convenience of a slip-on design to get you sending quickly. To top it off, Scarpa added a super sticky Vibram XS Grip 2 sole and wrapped the rubber over the toe to give you an edge on the steepest routes out there.

Really loving these slips

I decided to give these Scarpas a shot. I wanted a super sticky shoe for bouldering and sport climbing. So far they feel great for this purpose. I have wide flipper feet and these are not super wide, but I would not say my foot is being smashed width-wise. They are very comfy, especially for their level of performance. I sized basically the same as my street shoe size. 9.5 US and i got a size 42.5 and that sizing feels perfect for me. They have not broken in yet and are definitely snug, but I was not in any pain while climbing, and just slip the heels off at the top. Slight toe curl but that feels about right for the aggression of the shoe. I will update the review after another few days of climbing but they are looking good so far. The only complaint I have is that the heel seems to have more material on the sides than I need, but my heels are pretty narrow.
