Gea Alpine Touring Boot
Scarpa's Gea Alpine Touring Boot is already a best-seller due to its proven design at an affordable price, and while some ski companies simply change the color of ski boots each season, Scarpa made the Women's Gea Alpine Touring Boot better than ever for the new season. This year, the Gea is remarkably lighter, comfier, and more secure than ever before. A 100 flex and 101mm last make it a great option for skiers taking their first tour into the backcountry, but it'll also serve lighter veterans who value comfort over precision.
Scarpa updated the Gea with a Grilamid construction to ensure long-lasting stiffness and durability without much weight—it's not as stiff or light as carbon, but that's how Scarpa kept the price down on this boot. The tongue is still flexible Pebax to ensure a smooth, progressive forward flex during the descent. Other updates include a thermo-moldable Intuition liner that boot-fitters can heat up to mold to your foot's exact shape for even more comfort, and the Vibram rubber sole has a new tread pattern specifically designed for rocky summits. The Speedlock Plus ski/walk mode is also new for this season and is designed to reduce play between the shell and cuff for a more rigid feel while you ski.

Crazy light and good choice for BC boot
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I got these boots for one of my friends for Christmas and this is what they said about them: "The Scarpa Gea boot is an awesome boot. Super comfortable and lightweight while going uphill. The boot feels aggressive while skiing down and I feel comfortable skiing hard in it. My only complaint is that sometimes it squeezes my shins to the point of pain, but this could also be due to the liner mold or my buckling method. Overall, I am really pleased with them. Great boot."
Game-Changer
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have used this boot both in the resort and out of bounds. The boot has enough flex to be comfortable walking for a long period of time and also is stiff enough to ski the groomers in bounds. I tried this boot on at a store before purchasing and it fit great! When the boots arrived, out of the box my toes were cramped at first, but Scarpa has designed each of the buckles to have micro adjustments for loosening and tightening and I was able to make them fit perfectly. The heel strap that cranks down is the best! When locked down, I feel like I really have complete control of my skis! These were a game-changer in my skiing performance.
Is the Scarpa Gea compatable with Fritchee Diamir frame bindings?
I'm not sure exactly which bindings you're referring to, but these boots are ISO 9523, so if the bindings you're talking about are that ISO, then they would work fine!
