One boot for all your backcountry adventures.

Scarpa's Gea 1.0 Women's Alpine Touring Boot has been the most popular ladies' AT boot on the market for years, but this year's version has been tweaked to ski better, weigh less, and be more comfortable than ever before. At just three pounds, it's the lightest all-around AT boot in Scarpa's line, but with plenty of downhill performance to fulfill your need for speed and hunger for all things steep and deep. It has a comfortable 101mm last that won't crush your foot, and a heat-moldable Intuition Pro Flex G Women's liner to give you the perfect fit, so you won't want to amputate both your feet at the end of an all-day tour.

This year Scarpa's also introduced the new Mirage Pro ski/walk mechanism, which maintains the Gea's 39° range of cuff motion but adds considerable downhill performance through the addition of two locking pins and the stiffer Evo V-Frame cuff. The Gea's shell is made of eco-friendly Pebax Rnew, and the Axial Alpine tongue, which attaches at the toe and pivots to the side for easy on and off, is made of stiff Pebax to help give the boot a smooth, progressive 100 flex. The tongue design also helps the boot buckle more smoothly along the forefoot, letting you dial in the perfect volume for a comfortable pinch- and slop-free fit. Scarpa's beefed up the power strap and given it a glove-friendly cut-out for easy tightening, and hooked the Gea up with magnesium buckles, a wiregate Tour-Lock clasp to keep your top buckle in place even when it's not locked down, and a super-grippy Vibram Cayman sole to make short work of rocks, icy traverse, and exposed ridge walks.

    Great boots

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've skied these boots on a week in British Columbia covering 35K vert and also at the resort. I like their versatility - they're great on the skin track and you can lock them down fairly well on harder snow and in variable conditions. Really great product.

    Changed Backcountry Skiing for Me

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I tried on many different touring boots and ended up purchasing these based on fit. No regrets! Not only are these boots lightweight and easy to put on, but they are super comfortable. I love the Vibram soles and how the tongue pulls to the side to make them easy to put on. I skied one day without having the Intuition liner molded and it made a huge difference after I did. I have wider feet, but when we had the liner fitted, the boot fitter put extra things on the side of my feet to stretch them out I'm guessing. It definitely worked. The flex is perfect for me and they run true to size. Purchased the same size boots as my alpine boots.

Best thing that's ever happened to me!

My wife bought these boots after demoing them and they are the best thing that's ever happened to me b/c now she's psyched to go touring.

They are extremely easy to put on, very comfortable, and still ski pretty well (though they're obviously softer than a downhill boot). The important thing though is how happy her feet are.

The tongue hinges all the way out, making them super easy to put on. It's a very cool feature.

They fit true to size for her (25.0).

      Skin Faster, Ski Harder!

If you are looking for an aggressive boot that comes in a mondo size 23 look no further. Scarpa is the only company that i have found that makes my boot size (tiny feet) in a kick ass boot. I am a Women's street shoe size 6 and the 23's are perfect. This is my first tech boot and I'm blown away with how they perform. The down hill performance is aggressive which is awesome for steeper angles and big drops. They are light, stiff and have an awesome range in the walk mode. Not to mention the vibram sole is so sweet and sticky so if you are ridge walking and run into so rocks just pop your skis off and walk on by. Also there are nice little indicators on the toe where the lugs are so line those suckers up and step into your tech binding with ease. The pebax material makes it easy to get in and out but does not give up on stiffness. The four buckle system is unique and effective. It locks your heels down to prevent any sort of lift and the forward lean keeps you over your skis and away from the back seat. They are not the warmest but who needs warmth when you are walking up a mountain at elevation? Also the last width is a little narrow for me (wide last, high arches and narrow heel) but went to Inkline Foot Science here in Utah to get them fitted and now they don't bother me anymore. I am very impressed with how much my touring has improved with a lighter set up. I paired these babies up with the Dynafit 2.0 and the Black Diamond Link 95 ski and it's been nothing but smooth gliding out in the Wasatch.

      Fantastic Boot

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A very light and comfortable boot with an amazing walk mode. Easy to get in and out of. Stiff enough for a confident charge on the downhill.
These boots have definitely improved my backcountry enjoyment and performance. Great boot.
