The F1 LT Alpine Touring Boot is Scarpa's lightest ski boot that best-suits ski mountaineers and high-mileage backcountry tours. Carbon-infused Grilamid grants a forgiving 100 flex at a ridiculously low weight of two pounds and two ounces. Scarpa's 3D Lambda Torsion Frame maintains flex throughout the boot for enhances downhill performance. On the ascent, the boot's Speed Lock latch initiates an impressive range of motion for easy hiking. At the summit, a single buckle and the BOA Fit System's glove-friendly dial help you transition quickly. Light and fast

If you?re a runner you will appreciate these boots. I ski them with voile objectives and small 3/4 length race skins. Not what i want for skiing bumps at A Basin or 3? of Sierra Cement but for nimble backcountry missions this is the one. Pretty much jogged up to Helen Lake on Shasta for my first outing and they were plenty of boot and ski for some ice, some corn and some mixed.

Amazing light weight touring boot

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I live in Alaska and this boot has become my daily driver for touring. The boot is pretty warm and has great heat moldable line but when it gets below 10 degr. F I put toe warmers in the boot. I have probably 40 touring days in this boot this year. The boot is very well made and has held up to significant touring abuse. It accepts a crampon nicely. The flex in the boot is amazing and you could almost feel comfortable driving a car in this boot but probably not recommended. The boa system is easily adjusted for proper retention and is easy to release. The Boa takes some getting use to and its easy to over crank it while skinning up and end up with some instep pain. A good boot fitter can help with some padding and adjustments. I like the fact the boa system is hidden or protected under the cuff compared to other boa systems. The sole has little wear after plenty of hiking over rocky summits. If you are looking for a very lightweight but durable touring boot then you are in the right place. So if the boot fits I would tour it.

Lightweight but beware of rivets

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are impressively light--I'm pretty sure I have hiking boots that weight more. I'm just getting started on touring so haven't tested them much on the downhill but they are decently stiff. However, there seems to be a potentially significant design flaw with the placement of the rivets that anchor the boa system over of the forefoot. They dig in right over the knuckle of your big toe. This was obvious right out of the box when I took the liners out during fitting and could already see the imprint of the rivet on the liner. I've temporarily fixed this by placing high density foam over that spot. A boot fitter might be able to do more about this but I doubt they'll want to punch anywhere near the rivet. For the money (and from this brand) I expected better.
