I was supposed to start the 93 mile Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier at 8 AM with my group. Imagine my surprise when I woke up that morning and found two left boots in my bag. Luckily Whitiker Mountaineering was a half-hour away and stocked these. I bought them (size 44, US 10.5) and hit the trail. 93 sure-footed miles later, i did not have a single blister. They served me very well and will be my go to brand moving forward.

I recently got a pair of these to replace my old hikers, which fell apart prematurely and left something to be desired when scrambling. I generally run a little wider than normal in the feet and Scarpas fit me perfectly across the board. I've had a few days wearing them casually and an afternoon doing some good scrambling over sandstone in them and am thoroughly pleased. The construction seems sturdy (they resist abrasion very well), they grip well, and they're great to walk in. If they hold up at all like my Zodiac Pluses, I'll still be a big fan in a few years.

Easily the best shoe ever. I'm a carpenter. I have a. " retired" pair that I use for work, I have my every day pair. I just started the third pair for my gym shoes. Might actually retire the first pair and buy a fourth pair. Great traction in almost any situation, grease will mess you up.... 75' up on the side of a cliff, a gecko would be envious. Great all day, everyday comfort. Amazing lifespan for serious use. They look good, and are truly nice shoes. I strongly recommend these shoes, you will be happy with them; for anything that you throw at them. 8 months of constant daily wear they are finally getting rough around the edges. Cons; the toe box is hard to get tight, the sizes are kinda inconsistent, same size shoe three different fits. A little pricey. Ah I'm just going to say it. There aren't any cons.. Great shoe, well worth it, buy it, be happy. Ken

Thanks for the review, Ken! Much appreciated.

The shoe runs small. I have other Scarpa shoes and boots all 42.5 but this 42.5 Crux is too small and I get to pay for shipping them back.

These are really one of the best approach shoes that you can get! Scarpa has nailed it, yet again. Plenty of grip and comfort for long days in the mountains.

These are my go to shoes for any approaches and hiking in general. I use these for any hikes where I don't need protection from water and snow as they will get waterlogged pretty quickly in wet conditions. They are super sticky and comfortable when hiking across rock and talus, and they are light weight for big days.

What more can I say? They do their job very well. This is a classic from Scarpa and I anticipate they will be in their line for many more years to come. Pretty true to size, and will fit great if you have used Scarpa in the past.
