Vaughn Brown is not your typical outdoorsman. Raised in the Idaho on a steady diet of backpacking, snowboarding, and biking, he moved to Brooklyn after college to experience big city life. To get the best of both worlds, he eventually settled in San Francisco. An active guy with an urban aesthetic, Brown wanted to create clothing that performs outdoors but that doesn't look “performance” or “outdoorsy” in any way. For inspiration, he turned to the life of his late uncle, Parker Dusseau.

By all accounts, Parker Dusseau was a true Renaissance man. Vaughn remembers him as many things: cyclist, skier, horseman, adventurer, financier, fly fisherman, ladies' man, car collector, and traveler, to name a few. Vaughn says of his uncle, “He chased his passions with fervor and drank with an unquenchable thirst from the fountain of life. He was also dressed well, always.”

Parker Dusseau clothing is made on Mission Street in the heart of San Francisco’s manufacturing district. It costs more that way, but for Parker Dusseau, keeping manufacturing local and contributing to the livelihood of families in an increasingly expensive city make it worthwhile.
