Saxx's Sub-Zero Long Leg Men's Boxer Brief is designed to protect you when the weather gets cold. I wore these in this year's Elk Mountain Grand Traverse-- a 40 mile backcountry ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen that starts at midnight. Temps were in the high single digits for a lot of the race, but I could have cared less thanks to these. I wore them under my skin suit, which lacks wind-proofing or insulation in the thigh/crotch area. I was grateful for the extra protection, but my race partner claimed to be no worse off without them (he wore the same suit as me). So maybe I didn't experience the Saxx Subzeros' true potential. Nevertheless, I predict they will remain a useful piece of equipment in my backcountry skiing arsenal if:

    1. I have motivation for dawn patrols
    2. I race the Grand Traverse again
    3. I move to Canada
    4. The Earth's climate veers from its current trajectory

As for sizing, I wear a small in other Saxx products (i.e. Vibe boxer brief), and the small here fit well.

If you have never, you should.

I am a huge fan of windproof boxers. I am a winter activity guy. XC ski, run, snowshoe, back country ski and a few others here and there. I have 4 or 5 pair of Smartwool wind proof boxers and never xc ski without them. Once you have "frost tip" you will never forget it! You know when your toes warm up after a long cold day on the hill? .... fill in the blanks on another effected area.
I got these and quickly went out, excited for the thicker brushed material on a long leg boxer. I could not be happier.
The fit of these is incredible; from the flat seams, to the pocket your junk fits in, these are well engineered. The wind block functioned quite well, and the fleece was a nice treat.
    Highly recommended!
