The Lip Lock has a relatively simple job and it performs that job extremely well. I've had them on my bikes in the past and have them on both of my bikes now.

I was experiencing a lot of slip with my stock QR collar. This solved the problem! I researched this part exhaustively. IMHO, this is the best MTB seatpost collar made -period. (Only the Thompson collar comes close.) In fact, I have been so happy with this seat collar, I consider it a reference quality part like the Thompson Elite seatpost (or stem), Shimano hydraulic disk brakes (or the Shimano hollowtech cranksets), the Rockshox Reverb dropper post, the new Rockshox Pike fork, WTB saddles, and the Light & Motion "Taz" and "Seca" MTB lights. Made from 7075 series aluminum, CNC machined, and designed by Salsa in the USA... the design of this clamp is ingenious. The SS bolt into internal pivot (nut) design of this clamp sets it apart. The unique design reduces stress on the pinch bolt and fatigue. The pivoting stainless steel threaded insert is like a 1000 times more reliable than threaded aluminum. So, this design creates a STRONG clamp. Your seatpost will not move! BTW, Salsa is a great company and the clamp comes in creative enviro-friendly packaging. Great VALUE. Buy one for every bike you have!

Money
Use these on every bike I own, and so does pretty much everyone else I know. They lock down tight, and you never have to think about it again. Which is all you really want from a seatpost clamp.

Hi Harry, These are "anti-theft" in that they would require an Allen wrench to undo as opposed to the old-school quick release mechanism. I would not rely on this to keep your saddle from being stolen.
