X Ultra Mid Winter CS WP Boot
Tromp through deep-snow drifts, tackle freezing temperatures, and navigate iced-over sidewalks with the waterproof protection, toasty insulation, and sure-footed grip of the Salomon Women's X Ultra Winter CS WP Boot. Ready for winter's worst, this boot features a waterproof nubuck leather upper and Climasalomon membrane for total protection when you're shoveling snowed-in driveways, crossing slushy parking lots, or hiking on freshly dusted trails. Thinsulate insulation traps fiery heat to alleviate frozen feet when Arctic fronts blast through your locale so you don't have to call it quits and seek shelter in the less-fun indoors. Plus, the fuzzy textile lining adds a touch of cozy-softness to your winter wear.
Supporting your every step, the boot's OrthoLite EVA footbed provides high levels of comfort for walking long distances. Its injected EVA midsole absorbs impact from treading over rough terrain, while the molded shank support keeps you cruising comfortably over uneven surfaces when you're hiking through the woods or in the mountains. And to keep you from slipping on black ice and slick winter surfaces, the Contagrip sole grips over icy, snowed-over surfaces like a set of winter tires for your vehicle.

Function not style
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 8
- Height
- 5` 3"
- Weight
- 128 lbs
I felt like the old days slipping into dress shoes designed to torture women. Narrow toe box, top of shoe coming down hard on toes. Heel slippage. Hard fit. My husband had choices buying his winter boots and he saidmen's boots at baseline have normal sized toe boxes understanding feet splay, women's feet are wide too, and we wear heavy socks for hikes. I don't want fashion- no blue or purple boots for me please.. just good ankle support for flat feet, waterproofing, roomy toe box, and toe roof, warmth and general comfort.

Toe box is way too small and narrow
- Fit:

I ordered the size 7; I typically wear a size 6.5 or 7 in shoes, B width. There is plenty of room for my big toes to wiggle around, so the length isn't a problem, but the boot crunches down on my pinky toes, both right and left. Very disappointing, especially since returns aren't free. From reading reviews elsewhere I thought Salomon had improved the boot over previous years' models, but clearly not.

Great Boots!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I use these boots for shoveling snow and they are very comfortable and the sole grip is very good. Have not slipped yet. They are insulated and warm and I wear a wool sock. I bought these because I'm a man with narrow feet. Size seems to be accurate. The man who says the tongue is too short has a point. But I lace the top grommets first, then the grommets underneath last so I tie my laces with no problem. If I lace the bottom one first it cuts off the circulation of my ankle and the shoe doesn't bend as well. Great Boots!

Tongue is a little short for the laces
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I like the style, color & traction. The tongue is too short & the top lace rubs against my ankle. I find myself not lacing the top loop because of that! Wish they had more than 200 grams thinsulate (It’s hard to find warmer winter boots). I was in between sizes & decided to size up so I could wear extra socks. I wanted something warmer for winter hiking & snowshoeing. I have narrow feet have a hard time finding boots to fit. I tried on probably 20 pair & these were the best fitting for me. Haven’t worn them outsIde yet, but hoping they will be warm enough.

Not what I was hoping for!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these to wear as a good winter hiking boot, but when they came and I tried them on, they were both too big and were way too bulky for my liking! I felt like my feet were wearing weights and ended up returning them.

Momma loves em!
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got these as a gift for my mom for Christmas because she hikes in the winter, and also enjoys snowshoeing, and was looking for a boot that could do both while keeping her toes dry and toasty. I gave them to her early, because she's been hiking in her summer boots with gaiters, and ends up with chilly, damp feet. She said these were the best gift I've ever gotten her! She went on a long hike in these immediately and said they felt great right out of the box. It was about 20 degrees and with normal midweight hiking socks her feet stayed warm the whole time. She mentioned the traction was impressive, even without microspikes, on a trail with firmly packed snow. She's normally a size 7.5, which was here size in these as well!

For a minute I thought I wrote my review but see it was written by Susan M. Mine just arrived and I ordered an 8 since my current Salomen's are 8 and they are very comfortable, supportive, warm and roomy in the toe box. Not these new winter boots. As soon as I put the boot on it hurt my toes. They were squashed together and the two last toes of each foot felt like cement was weighing down on them. There was heel slippage though my toes hit the tip of the toe box. Awful. I thought I read returns were free, I know I saw that somewhere but I'll pay to get them out tomorrow. So disappointed in Salomon. My summer hiking boots are pretty old and are perfect but they will have to be replaced soon. I wanted to order winter and summer hiking boots from Salomon but now have to look elseehere.
