    Reliable Shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have these shoes and love them so i got them as a gift for a friend who was looking for her first pair of hiking shoes. I recommended the Salomon X-Mission 3's because of their versatility and comfort. No issues with blisters, great for trail running or hiking, and just a generally great shoe all around.

    Great overall shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Fits nice, lots of toe room, good ventilation, great support, (these, along with a ton of stretching, helped me get over plantar fasciitis) really good surface grip. I am buying my third pair. They hold up good in the washing machine too.

    Great for narrow feet!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my first pair of Salomon's and I like them a lot so far. The sole provides a lot of support and I feel very comfortable trail running in them. I wear an 8- 8.5 in casual shoes and I went up to a 9 in these. I'd say with my orthotic inserts (longtime foot injury issues), I could even have gone up to a 9.5 comfortably. The only thing that concerns me is that the side of the shoe is higher than my other shoes and is rubbing a bit on my ankle bone. I haven't gone on a long run or hike in these yet, but that's something I'll be watching.

    Great Gift

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got these shoes as a gift for my Mom's birthday. She normally wears an 8 or 8.5. I got her the size 8 and she said they fit perfectly. She works outside in her garden a lot and she said she wears them all the time while outside. They are also great for walking, running and just every day.

These are my absolute favorite trail runners/hiking shoes. I hiked ~800miles on the AT with them this summer. I switched to these after developing mild tendonitis with a pair of altras. I honestly think these shoes saved my hike. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love them. They are comfy, lightweight, sturdy and the lacing system is bomber! You cinch them down and then tuck the excess cord into a little mesh pocket in the tongue and then never have to re-adjust or worry about your shoes coming untied. Genius. They dry out super fast and the toe box is wide enough for wiggle room but doesn't look clownish. Tread is solid---I climbed up Dragon's Tooth in VA in the rain in these shoes! (dumb.) They did start to lose tread towards the end, but that's to be expected. After 800 miles they were still in great shape but I could feel they were wearing a little harder on my knees. I've tried Altras, Brooks, and Hokas but these are hands down my favorite.

    Solid hiking shoe!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a pair of the mens X-Mission's and my mom was due for a new pair of hiking shoes so I went ahead and picked these up for her. Needless to say she loves her just as much as I love mine. She wears here out in town as well as when she is hiking. Loves how light and grippy these things are. Great shoe! Fit is true to size for her.

I bought these for my mom as a birthday gift. As a nurse she is on her feet all day and has loved them from the start. Still wears them everyday to work and hasnt had any issues.

    Great shoe for the trails.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Given the time of year and the current weather conditions I have only had the chance to give these a single go so far, but I am please with the purchase at this time. Comfortable, light weight, and well designed. I believe these will be perfect for runs and hikes out on the trails while offering the protection and traction a traditional tennis shoe simply can't. I suspect I will get used to the feel, however I did notice that the sole is stiffer than expected when I initially gave these a try. Only time will tell, however worth noting as I was not aware that this would be significantly stiffer than a road running shoe. Fit wise I found these run true to size. I ended up going with the 9.5 and I typically wear a 9.5 in road running shoes (Saucony, Mizuno, and Brooks).

Look no further for a great trail shoe

I bought these for my girlfriend since her first pair of Salomon X-Mission's were finally beat after 2 years of use. Great shoe for trail running, hiking, and anything outdoors. The material is high-quality and she says they fit really well- she is typically a size 7 in most shoes and this shoe is true to size.

    On my 3rd Pair

I've been a Mission loyalist for the past several years, relying on these bubs for everything from road to light trail to closed-toed-shoe camp games.

The upper is flexible and light, dries out quickly. I really love the wider toe-box, too, allowing my feet to stretch out and remain comfortable.

These are fantastic as a light hiking shoe, too, plenty sturdy for even some rough trails .

The gift that keeps on giving. I gave these as a birthday present to my mom. It's her 2nd pair and I knew her first was worn out. She loves them- a standard fit and are great for everyday hiking, walking and everyday adventures.

Perfect Shoe For All Outdoor Activities

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

These shoes are INCREDIBLE! I usually wear a 7, but I ordered a half size up because it gives me more room to twist and turn on the trail. I love the quicklace because I can tighten my shoe to make it fit perfectly. I was able to throw them on and go for a run without having to break them in or getting blisters. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who loves running trails!

      My favorite trail running shoe!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 8
      • Height: 5'4"
      • Weight: 135lbs

These are my third pair of this style shoe. They are comfortable from the start. No breaking in these bad boys. Just put them on and run! They are true to size and I have a wide foot and I didn't need to size up. My only complaint t is I wish they made this style in gore-tex. I live in the NW and run on muddy trails so fingers crossed.

If you trails run, YOU NEED THESE SHOES

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 10.5

As soon as I put these bad boys on I was immediately engulfed in a giddy happiness that was comparable to a runners high, without even taking a step. Wearing these shoes makes running over rocky, rough terrain feel like you're bouncing along clouds like a majestic gazelle. While these are listed as "trail shoes" I have done my fair share of pavement pounding and they handle the roads like an Italian sports car. (now if I could make my legs just run like a sports car too).

On the technical side, the quick-pull lace system is perfect for not only tightening your shoes just right so it feels like your foot is engulfed in a cozy and secure hug but also great for those of us who can't be bothered with taking time to tie our lasses. There is also a little pocket on the top of the tongue to stow your laces which took me an embarrassingly long time to find but is now extremely useful, so don't miss it! I have some wonky knees and am prone to over-pronation so I was a little weary of these shoes being a more "neutral' support system but they have proven themselves among the ranks of even my most burly/supportive shoes and without all the added bulk and weight.

Long story short, I'm obsessed with these shoes and you will be too.
Feel free to always hit me up with any questions! Happy running!

      Spot on for the trails

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 8
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 130lbs

Bought these as a gift for my lady, and she really loves them. They are super light and the fit is spot on. The sole is medium-stiff, so it has a nice balance achieving flexibility for your foot and support while running over rocks and roots.

      Loving them so far!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

Comfy, light, plenty of room in the toe, no heel lift, convenient speed lacing - all make these a great trail running shoe that I'm really loving so far! They feel great on trails or roads, with good tread and a nice amount of cushion in the heel, but no so much that you feel like you're in a bouncy castle.

      Great trial runner

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

This is the first time I've used these shoes. My initial response was how darn light they are...which then turned to concern of durability. Well, after a few weeks (about 150 miles) running on rough, rocky volcanic Cascade Mtns trails, my concern has been squashed. The sole is stiff enough for protection, but not to stiff that you can't feel what your on. The toe box has nice amount of protection for that guaranteed toe into rock/roots.
I am really surprised how good these shoes are and I will buy them again, for sure. :-)
