Comfortable, not durable enough for backcountry.

Bought these March 5th of 2020. I ride about 40 days per season, 35 of which are are uphill days in the backcountry. Totally, about 120 days on them, which isn't bad. Echoing other statements here, a lot of small things have broken on these boots. - Quick lace anchor points have pulled out in both liners. - Zipper broke on one boot - BOA on one boot struggles to unwind but does tighten without trouble. - Pull strings on one of the laces near the toe have broken - Both liners are cracked near the ankle. All in all these have been pretty good boots. Generally 100 days is pretty average so 120 is not bad. Just a bummer to see them break down like this, especially after paying premium for them. In short, I'm satisfied but not hooked.

Great boots

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I love the overall feel and function of this boot. They are extremely stiff with very little give, which, is a blessing. My only gripes, they run large. My feet are swimming in size 9 when all of my boots have been small. The bottom half of the boot's lace system is gimmicky, and I am just waiting for it to snap. Other than that, they preform great and feel like I am walking on clouds.

Serviceable for resort boots, poor durability

These boots are stiff and responsive for riding and the system is nice for splitting however they have limited durability and the whole bottom half of the boot has began to separate in their 2nd season. This happened on both boots where the glue no longer holds.

extremely comfortable

I'm not to ever really write reviews but seeing all these negative comments I have to add my input. These boots are the bees knees. Transitioning from hiking to ride mode takes less than a minute, simply tighten the boa and go. The walk mode is extremely nice and there's a ton of flexibility and movement in the boot and the lacing system is spot on. Boot is very stiff for those gnarly descents, overall a great boot.

Exceptional Splitboard Boot

Exceptional (as long as you don't spend a lot of time in crampons) I've ridden the S/lab Treks for three seasons. I've also spent a week in Burton Tourists, a week in Jones MTBs, and a few days in K2 Aspect BOAs, and prefer this boot above all the others for everyday splitboarding. Pros: - Best walk mode of any soft splitboard boot (articulating cuff rather than elastic or drop out back allows more negative flex in stride) - Ride as well on the downhill as my favorite regular boots -Easy to transition into "downhill mode" (tighten the BOA that controls the articulating cuff to eliminate walk mode and crank down the power strap - skip one or both steps if you want a softer or surfy feel or need to transition more quickly to smoke your ski pals). Cons: - Not as splitboard mountaineering-oriented as Jones MTB or Aspect BOA - Lack of a Vibram mountaineering sole, lack of a heel welt/semi-automatic crampon compatibility.

If you're looking for a easy to use and comfortable touring boot, look no further. This boot is nothing less than remarkable. The BOA Trek system works like a dream. You have one BOA lacing system that tightens the whole boot perfectly (I'm not sure how they did it, but it works like magic). The power strap on top of the boot makes it easy to transition into walk or touring mode. You simply loosen the power strap and release the BOA lace and you're ready to tour. When you're ready to ride you just tighten the BOA and power strap back up. The stiff flex of these boots gives you plenty of control to send big lines with confidence. When it comes to Touring boots this is definitely one of the best(if not THE best) pair of boots on the market. Salomon nailed it with the Trek S/Lab. 10/10 would recommend

Superb boots

As a Top Level Snowboard instructor (16 years experience) and a passionated Splitboarder, I have to say that this boots are top. Second season on them, super comfy uphill and stiff downhill. Also on Alpine summit walks

I don't speak French,... but these boots are LéGit

I am slowly converting over to splitboarding, since everything is currently sold out, I went with purchasing boots first, and I am SUPER happy that I did. These boots, regardless of function, are extremely solid and comfortable. So far, I have used them in two situations. The first, was a 3-day backcountry avalanche training. Over the course of the training, we covered about 5400ft in elv. gain, traverses, and downhill. At no point were my feet or legs in an uncomfortable position. Keep in mind, that I was not skinning (since I haven't bought a splitboard yet), and I was strapped into snowshoes. I had zero issues in either my ascent or descent. The "walking function" of letting the BOA out, keeping the heel strap tight, and latching the shin strap works amazingly. The second situation, I just used them in some pretty mellow resort riding. I only had about 4-hours on the mountain, but could have easily kept riding if they hadn't kicked us off the hill. My feet felt great. I tinkered back and forth with how tight/loose to keep the different components, it's just gonna have to come with a few more rides to get them dialed in,... but like all things, that's just riders preference. Again, the "walking function" works super well and is a nice reprieve walking back to the truck at the end of the day. I would definitely recommend this boot.

Comfy and supportive.

Only a few days out with these but so for so good, love the way these open up for the climb and they cinch up good for the ride. But I would like a way to tighten up the heel cup as I get a bit of lift while in climb mode.
