Not great on rocky trails
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Used these on the JMT last summer with a pair of Salomon trail runners . After about 50 miles the stirrup straps wore through and broke, rendering them useless as gaiters. Dumped them at the nearest can. Since gone to Dirty Girl gaiters for dry, rocky trails. Much lighter and no straps under foot to wear out.

Its great to hit the trail in running shoe with out a worry about about stuff getting in the shoes. The Gaiters a breeze to get over the shoes and take off.

So first off, I do recommend sizing down a little. I wear a size 11 and got the large. They fit a little looser around my shoe and ankle than I would like. Despite that, they do fit on there effectively enough to stay in place and keep the rocks out. After you put them on just right, you hardly notice they're even there after awhile.

Great trail running and hiking gaiter

Great gaiters that keep debris out of your trail running shoes. My wife and I use these gaiters when trail running or when hiking using our trail running shoes on established trails. I've never tried to wear them breaking brush cross county. I suspect though they would not last very long if used in this manner. These gaiters are great for their intended use. Once on they do keep debris out of your shoes and you really don't notice them at all as they weigh close to nothing. I wear a size 9 mens shoe and the medium fit fine. My wife wears a size 7.5 women's and she wears the size small gaiter. During our trip to Zion National Park, we used them almost everyday to hike Angel's Landing and the other signature hikes the park has to offer. At the end of each day our shoes were never filled with pebbles, twiggs, or other debris. Overall a very good product.
Just what I have been looking for

They forgot to list cholla cactus clusters and other desert small spiky things. Those are vicious! Or if you like to max out and run on the beach, then sand accumulating in your shoes is bummer.
Good, compact gaiters that do the job but do not cover half of your legs and create tan lines. Recommend to AZ and CA runners.
