    For the love of running.

While you love running trails with Fido, the amount of dog (and human, ahem) drool that's saturated your shoes over the past few summer months seems akin to Lake Michigan. However, with the help of the Salomon Women's Speedcross 4 CS Trail Running Shoe, you're able to counteract Fido's never-ending-mouth-flow and just enjoy the run. The Speedcross 4 CS features a weather-hardy ClimaShield membrane that offers water-resistance. A breathable, mesh upper features an additional DWR treatment, while the gusseted tongue and mud guard offer anti-debris protection.

Salomon's infamous QuickLace drawcord provides a speedy and secure alternative to the traditional lacing system, and the lace-specific pocket provides an easy way to stash excess cord, which further discourages you and Fido from tripping over your foot. Additionally, the shoe's molded Ortholite footbed, Lightweight Muscle, and EVA midsole assure shock attenuation, impact absorption, and run-long support. And, the tenacious Wet Traction Contagrip outsole ensures traction no matter the conditions.

    Great for running or hiking!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These shoes are see everywhere and for a good reason. The burly tread is perfect for trail running or hiking. The Salomon CS waterproofing is great for winter running as well. However, the shoe does have quite a narrow toe box so if you've got wider feet, consider sizing up a half size. I usually wear a size 8 for most shoes but went with an 8.5 in these to avoid squeeze and blisters.

    Zippity-doo-dah.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

There's a reason you see these shoes everywhere––they're rugged, comfortable, and versatile for outdoor fun in the mountains. My wife picked up a pair of these for trail running, but found they make a better hiking and approach shoe for her.

She has fairly flat, medium-width, low-volume feet and said the toe box is WAY too narrow to spread/engage the forefoot, the high arch-support at the midfoot can can cause blistering, and the drop of the shoe is tough on her knees when it comes to running more than a mile or so on trails or pavement.

However, when she's camping, hiking to crags, or on climbing trips, she LOVES the burly tread, easy on/off thanks to the QuickLace system, and the stability/precision provided by the rock plate and toe. They're a staple in her gear closet, but she'd recommend checking out brands like Saucony or Brooks for those with similar feet. She wears a W's 8.5/9 in street shoes, and a 9/9.5 in these––size up at least a half size in these for hiking, or perhaps a full size for running.

    Perfect

Haven't ran in them yet but put many miles hiking through Iceland - held up like a dream in rain/mud/rocks (used gaiters as well). Excellent traction walking in slick grass on the side of a mountain. 10/10 would recommend.
Note: sizing - usually wear a 7.5 but had to size down to a 7 with these.

    Perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I've been a fan of Salomon for awhile, and had a hunch these would be great for winter running. I occasionally run the cross country groomed trails, and these shoes are perfect for that. Now that it's muddy season, these are excelling in those conditions as well. I found the soles of these to be slightly more rigid but easy to break in nonetheless. And once I got used to it, I've grown to love Salomon's lacing system. Great running shoe for anyone who loves the standard Salomon features, and needs some extra grip and weatherproofing for less than ideal conditions.

    Sister loved them

These were a xmas gift for my sister. She absolutely loves them. Her second pair of these shoes, she only runs in salomon and has only great things to say about them

Built like a truck for a good 3 years

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small

After 3 Spartan Races (muddy obstacle course races), plus numerous hikes, these amazing shoes had to finally be put down to rest.

Although it sounds sad, I was very happy and thought they out performed for three solid years of rocky terrain, climate abuse, etc. The material is still perfect, the only reason I needed to replace is because the outer soles were so worn down that they weren't safe any longer on uneven terrain.

Also, I loved how easy they were to hose off the dirt from the outsides as well as removing the inner awesome soles after muddy races. Afterwards, I would just leave outside to dry and would look as good as new again.

The lace system is great and stayed tight once locked into place. It even has a hidden small "lace pocket" built into the tongue for the lock mechanism that would always stay mud free and out of sight.

Definitely splurge, they are worth it!

    Love the weatherproofing

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

Salomon never disappoints and these are no exception. Love the fit, great grip for the trails and the climashield cannot be beat for the rainy Pac NW. Very comfortable for running and walking and seem like they will last awhile.
