Does the job
I saw the poor reviews and bought the straw anyway, since I already owned an expensive Salomon running vest that came with soft flasks. Shortening the straw wasn't as bad as I expected . I watched a youTube tutorial and removed length from the bottom of the straw. It took under 10 minutes, including reassembly.

Ok if you're careful
Ran with this for the first time and realized I should've cut it down to 1/2 length. Wanted to run with it once before cutting (measure twice cut once). 1/2 mile into my run the straw's quick-lock to the bottle top 'quick-detached' and sprayed ~200ml of Gatorade all over me. I wish the quick lock was a little more secure to eliminate accidental detachment when you reach for it while running. So provided you cut it down to size, and REALLY make sure it's on there, it beats fussing with reaching down for the default 500ml bottle top when this is installed in an ADV skin vest.

VERY hard to attach
These are nice to have, but they were very difficult to attach! I had to call customer support two times and exchange a series of emails with them. After many attempts, tons of brute strength, two people trying, and - in the end - sheer luck, we finally were able to attach the straws to the caps. Including multiple calls to customer service (who were very nice and tried to help), I spent an hour trying to get the straws attached to the caps they were designed for. Also, once I did manage to attach the straws to the caps I then had to modify the straws (I.e., cut them almost in half) to make them the appropriate length so as not to have them hitting me in the face. Now that I have attached them and modified them, however, I can say that I do like having them to use while running vs. drinking directly from the bite valve on the cap.

Not as advertised
You can see clearly in the photo that this item has a wide base to screw to the top of the bottle. The straws I received did not have a base and there is no way to attach them to the bottle, which means they are useless to me.

No brainer for use with running vest
This product is a no brainer if you have the running vests. I’ve used a handful of times so far and having the straws extend upto your face just makes sense. My only pain in this product was cutting the straw to fit and removing it from the original. Not nearly as easy as some videos I’ve seen by putting in hot water and pulling of, but that’s okay really. Just took a bit of time sawing it off with a blade carefully not trying to damage it, which really isn’t terribly hard, but in comparison to just pulling it off easy peasy. Putting the straw back on was simple.

Hard to adjust
Bought two of these with my vest but haven't yet used them... Getting the ends out to cut the straws out was neigh on possible on I've given up trying to put them back in. They even soaked for 10mins in boiling water and my much stronger husband attempted it, with no luck.

Love the straw but....
I only need to purchase the mouthpiece but can’t find. I’ve already replaced one straw but such a waste of. $$ and plastic

To much trouble
It worked ok but to much trouble taking it off and on while the bottles were inside the vest. I would always have water spillage when I removed the nozzles that came with the bottle to place the straw in. I think they should have made it were you slip it over the nozzle that's on the bottle. Maybe, I was not doing something right.

Perfect addition
Great option for the Salomon flasks. The extra long straw length is perfect for customizing the exact length you need for the flasks you wear in the front pockets of a running vest by simply trimming away the excess. I was also able to utilize one 600ml flask with a full length straw as an additional hydration source stored in the back center pouch of my S-Lab 8set running vest instead of a traditional hydration pouch.
