Vibe with the ride.
Salomon outfitted the Sense Ride's upper in 3D stretch mesh encapsulated by Sensifit overlays and Endofit's sock-like technology. Sensifit and Endofit maintain a secure fit despite the upper's seamless convenience, and the Quicklace drawcord offers a quick way to secure the fit from toe to heel. Salomon's Contagrip rubber sole uses low-profile lugs and a softer compound to grip wetter terrain better.

Spoiler Alert: not a trail runner. Good news: the girls below me are and can vouch for the Sense Ride's ability to handle impact with traction and stability. I'm here to tell you these shoes are AWESOME to hike in. This really shouldn't be a surprise, but always nice to hear firsthand experience, right? I've been using Salomon trail runners to hike in for years, and these are my new go-tos. I broke them in on an 8-mile, heavy-vert trail in Great Basin NP and came down blister-free, which is utterly unheard of for me. Relatively no slippage on skree and loose trails, and great traction for rocky Utah trails. I'm usually a 7 (sometimes 7.5), but stuck with the 7 here and they fit perfectly.
The bonus is that they look goooooooood.

For me, comfort comes first and foremost in a running shoe, and the Salomon Sense Ride has “comfort” written all over it. Okay, it’s not actually advertised on the shoe, but Salomon’s Endofit and Sensifit keep my feet snug and secure and give the shoe an overall glove-like feel. As someone with wide feet and high arches, it’s important to have an articulated fit to prevent things from getting sloppy on the descent and to make sure I stay comfortable when I’m out training for 30+ miles. In conjunction with the brilliant Salomon fit comes the Salomon Quicklace system, which I think is the key features in these shoes. It’s minimal, easy to use, and you can forget about worrying about tying your shoes mid-run.
The best running shoes I've ever owned

I recently got a pair of these when I started running more trail and my road shoes were getting pretty beat up. They are hands down the comfiest running shoes I have ever worn! There's enough cushion to keep my feet comfortable during long runs, and they're super light and not as clunky as most trail shoes. While they're technically designed for more light trail running, I've never had a problem on longer more technical trails.
I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 running shoe and the 6 fits me perfectly so it seems they run a little big. I also love the quicklace feature because my shoelaces never come untied!
