Why We Like The Predict Soc 2 Running Shoe

The Predict Soc 2 is a running shoe with a sock-like feel. The roomy toe area is all premium knitted for even more breathability and flexibility than the previous design, while the half-bootie heel with added padding maintains a solid hold and fits like a glove. The Anatomically Decoupled midsole and outsole create more natural foot movements, resulting in reduced stress on our joints, and independent platforms on the outsole dynamically stabilize our stride when we need it most.

Comfortable and Light

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Was very happy to get the chance to try this shoe, as I have had a few pairs of Salomon shoes in the past and always was a fan. To me, these definitely are a "training" shoe, something that is good for the gym or short runs. Personally, I would use something else for longer runs, but for just about anything else, I think these are great! Super comfortable to just wear around and they look great too!

I was given this product from Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. The Salomon Predict SOC2 is a very comfortable shoe. Well designed and constructed, a quality shoe. My feet felt as if they were wrapped in a smooth glove sans joins or uncomfortable stitches to rub against. As a former long distance marathon runner, BQ'd twice, I've worked his way through many brands and this is definitely more than just an acceptable runner's shoe. I found the last very comfortable no hot spots. I have a slight overpronation and found the neural form accommodated my foot and the last didn't try to modify it. This is very helpful as a shoe that materially influences ones foot/leg mechanics is to be avoided. Been there on long runs and knees suffer. I found the shoe very efficient, it absorbed my weight and impact well, yet produced a surprisingly noticeable bounce. I tend to be a heel toe runner and this last allowed me to vary between mid sole to heel strike effortlessly. This helped me, as my foot was less fatigued. The cushioning and support was consistent throughout the length of the shoe. The soft toe area really was very comfortable for my toes, no banging nor pressure on my toenails. Two words of advice, I have a size 12 narrow foot. The Salomon Predict SOC2 definitely held my foot nicely in position, not sure how it would be for medium or wider width foot. Shoe length was not true, it ran long so I downsized to an 11. I haven't tried the shoe on fast track workouts yet and it is too early to say how long the springiness will last. They also look great with jeans per an admirer.

(I'm an idiot and didn't realize I reviewed a past model by mistake) I don't know what I expected, and I was quite impressed within the first couple of miles in these. I'm no Cinder-fella fit and I can wedge my feet into just about anything without much protest. As an enthusiast who's outrunning old age and obesity as best I can, I do lean towards some brands and builds over others. I haven't spent a day in Salomon since the Snow Dragon (or was it pipe dragon?) as I watched the ball drop on Y2K, and the return to these was a warm welcome. I didn't expect the traction i felt in loose rocks and the cush muted a lot of jagged edges that would otherwise translate through or alter the course of the shoe. I will be watching these to make sure the next gen isn't altered enough to justify loading up on this one before it disappears. why not 5 stars? i try to not LOVE shoes to avoid the heartbreak of their demise.
