Great all around hiker. I wore these trekking through Peru when I first received them and they were easy to break in.

This is my first real hiking shoes, so i do not have anything to compare them by. However, they have surpass all expectations. I have a lot of experience with Gore-Tex so i knew my feet will be kept dry. That was the case on the first hike with them, about 8 miles and 800 feet of elevation; on vary terrain from a lot of puddles and mud, to rocks and some tharmac. My feet were kept bone dried, and overall warm in 45 F with wool socks. It took about 2 miles for them to break in, after that they were super comfortable, really good grip on rocks, and the sole is just stiff enough for confort and support. Toe box offer good enough protection (I did hit a rock) and are very light, They may be to narrow for some people, will see how they hold up in the long run. Over all made my hiking experience a lot more pleasurable.

Horrible laces need to be immediately upgraded.

Extremely Comfy

Hands down, that was one of the most comfortable shoes that I've ever had. The insole always get a little twisted when I take my shoes off, but other than that, no complaints at all.

I got these Solomon Predict Hike Mids right out of the box and hit the trails. They were extremely comfortable and fit true to size. These are not bulky nor do they look like everyone else's hikers. I've gone on multiple hikes in the last 2 weeks and these are fantastic. Good grip, good support and sporty. Many hikers don't have cushion inside however these shoes feel like a mix between a running shoe and a hiker. I highly recommend.

I was given a pair Salomon Predict Hike Boots from Backcountry, but this review Is my personal opinion. I am an owner of two pairs of Salomon Ultra X GTX hiking shoes, both of which have been wore into the ground, so I was excited to try out Salomon’s new Predict Hike Boots. Out of the box, first impressions were that they very much looked like a basketball shoe vs a traditional hiker, so I was skeptical off the bat if they would hold up to the past versions of the Ultra X GTX hiking shoes, I’m so familiar with. Upon initially trying on the Predicts– sizing was very true to fit to my size 13 flat foot and the overall comfort of the boot was notably better than the Ultra X shoes when I initially took those out of the box (also, I’ve found the Ultra X’s can run a touch big or small, so it was good to see the Predicts ran very true to size). To my surprise, the Predicts did not feel bulky like a basketball shoe and we’re surprisingly lighter weight on the foot than what I was expecting. The lace up system is smooth and the ankle support top portion of the boot adds plenty of support. I’ve had almost 30 days use on the Salomon Predict Hike Boots now – daily activities have ranged from plenty of yard work, afternoon hikes on trails in the local state parks of Northern Wisconsin watching the fall colors and fishing bluegills/crappies in the lake. The GTX finish on the boot has kept my feet completely dry during wet yardwork/hikes or when walking around the lake shore fishing. I’ve found I can keep the Predicts on my feet all day without getting any shoe/foot fatigue – which is a testament to the Predicts sole support system and overall comfort/support the boot provides. I’m really impressed with the overall performance of the Salomon Predict Hike Boots and hoping I’ll be able to run these into the ground as I have with previous Salomon products.

They are well made came a size smaller I Usually wear an 11 and got a 11.5 luckily and they fit a little snug but I think they will break in nicely. They are gortex which kept the water that I hoped into out. They are nice and light.
