- Q & A
Bought these for light hikes. I love the ankle support, hard sole, and the look of the shoe. All around very happy.
Great boots for a narrow foot!
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I ended up having to return these boots since they didn't really fit my foot. I don't have a super wide foot, but these were pretty narrow!!! I love the look of these boots and how low-profile they are. These would be a perfect boot for short hikes or even walking around town, probably wouldn't take them on a longer hike though, since they're a softer boot. All in all, they were too narrow for me but I would buy again if they made a wide!
Comfortable, light weight
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I purchased these boots with some guidance from my gear head, Josh. I have long, narrow feet and had already tried 5-6 pairs elsewhere. These run true to size and are great for a narrow foot. The reinforced toe and bottom traction makes these some of the best lightweight boots I could find. They look amazing, too! I typically remove the insoles and insert my custom orthotics, but I don’t think I will have to with these. Can’t wait to hit the trails and break them in! Thank you, backcountry!
The One Shoe You Need For A Weekend Trip
If you have to bring one shoe on a weekend trip where you'll be hiking and hitting the town, this is the shoe for you. As a Salomon employee, I was looking forward to trying out this shoe and was excited when they came in right before a weekend trip to the Tetons. Putting 25 miles in over two days, I had no issues. They're lightweight, breathable, and perfect for wearing straight from the trail to dinner in Jackson.
I'd recommend going down a 1/2 size, i'm normally a 7.5 and wear a 7 in these.
Salomon Outline Mid GTX - Amazing Boots
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I got the Solomon Outline Mid GTX boots and I have been using them as everyday hiking boots for my normal 2-4 mile hikes as well as at the dog park. These boots were comfortable from day 1, I did make the mistake one day to wear short socks and the high ankle rubbed a bit but that is to be expected. They preform great with normal hiking socks or crew-height socks. My feet are very narrow so finding a narrow boot is some times difficult. The toe-box in the Solomon Outline Mid GTX boots are fairly wide for my foot but the laces have enough adjustability to allow me to tighten them down plenty and they don't shift around uncomfortably on my feet while I'm hiking. The Gortex is also an amazing addition. I like all my hiking boots to be gortex just so i don't have to worry about my feet getting wet in any condition I'm hiking in or if Iâm crossing small streams. I would recommend these boots to anyone looking for a good, light weight hiking boots. These are the first Solomon boots I have owned and I am happy to say I will be looking to buy another pair of Solomons once these wear out which I have a feeling will take a while.
