The Salomon Outline GTX Hiking Shoe is optimized for hikers who like to be on the trail more often than not. This lightweight shoe has a GORE-TEX Comfort membrane to seal out moisture while allowing vapor to escape—keeping our feet comfortable even in less desirable conditions. Underfoot, it features a 9mm drop to encourage an average stride length, a cushioned midsole, and a Contagrip outsole that grips muddy and wet trails with ease. An Ortholite footbed cushions our feet on all sides against the trail without making it unstable.

Great hiking shoes
I love this comfortable shoes, fit well and not hurt. I actually buy 3 pairs for the good prices.

first time wearing and first time twisted my ankle
I purchase this hiking shoes last week and wore it for an easy trail this Saturday which was a sunny day, no rain and ground was dry. So I slipped on the rock path to the restroom , and twisted my ankle for the first time in my life after so much hiking . I don’t know if I should blame the path or the shoes, the fact is just as above.

Not Waterproof
I purchase a pair of these shoes earlier this year as I already had a previous years (2020) model and had been so pleased with them I wanted to get another pair to use for a 6 month cycling tour. The first downpour that I experienced my socks at the front/side toe box were wet within minutes. I couldn't believe it as the older version had kept my feet bone dry for hours in the same downpours. It only leaves me to think that perhaps different materials had been used in the manufacturing process. Its a shame because everything else about the shoe i.e. fit and comfort are perfect for my feet but they are definitely not waterproof and I made sure to buy the GTX version.

Perfect for Day Hikes
It is difficult for me to find shoes that fit great, stand up to daily hikes of 3-5 miles and have the added bonus of looking like sneaker. These shoes check all the boxes. I have worn out 3 pairs. I came back to order my 4th and am sad to learn they are discontinued. These were hands down the best hiking shoe I have ever worn in over 30 years. Please bring them back!

I haven't loved another pair of shoes more!
I bought TWO pair last year, and have worn them so much, I came back to buy another pair. I'm not willing to risk a sore back or sore legs, so I wanted to get a THIRD pair (I teach in a self-contained elementary special education classroom and average about 10,000 steps before I even go home every day). Sadly though, it appears these are being discontinued??? NOOOO! I hope there will be a new issue of these shoes. I wear a size 11 and I honestly have looked forward to wearing these shoes every day because they are just that comfortable and practical.

Slim fit
Very hard for me to get shes that fit. Womens size 11 narrow is next to impossible. Tried many different Salomon. These shoes work for me!
