    Beauty deserves protection.

The Women's Hime High Winter Boot is at the height of Salomon's fashion and protection for the girl who wants to stay outside in bad weather and look good doing it. ClimaDry waterproofing includes fully taped seams to ensure dry times on snowy sidewalks, and split suede leather gives the upper extra protection. Faux fur lines the Hime's interior for improved insulation as well as a little après style. The non-marking ContaGrip sole utilizes a hard rubber compound to give it a good grip on ice, and the gusseted tongue keeps snow, dirt, and debris out of the boot. Salomon also added a layer of injected EVA for stability and a layer of molded EVA for cushion.

    Great boots, lots of laces!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These boots have been good so far. Even with unzipping them you still have to loosen the laces quite a bit to get into them so they take some time to get on! I have chicken legs so most boots look silly on me because they are so big around my legs but I love that I can tighten these down to fit my legs! They are plenty warm for around town but my toes did get cold when we were out getting our Christmas tree. It was 24 degrees and only a couple inches of snow on the ground so I was surprised they got so cold so fast. So if you're going to be out in the snow for a while make sure you have warm socks on.

Cute! But not for the wide calf...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I really wanted a pair of taller boots to wear for snowshoeing and had high hopes for these. Unfortunately, they were just too tight in the calves. It dug into my leg and also left a lot of bulk at the ankle. Would work perfect for someone with smaller calves! They're light as can be and so very cute!

Great fit & form; function TBD

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8
    • Height: 5'0"

Since it's not winter here in Chicago yet and there's no snow on the ground, I can't review these boots for performance right now. But I can say these things:

    1. If your calves and/or ankles are a bit wide, try these boots anyway. My left calf's circumference is 17" and my right is 16". My left ankle's bigger than my right, and my left foot usually needs a wide width (my right foot takes a standard width). I tried these boots on with thick wool socks. The right boot fits great. I didn't think the left boot would fit, but it does! The boot shaft is just wide enough to accommodate my left calf, and I can still tighten and tie the laces. And I can zip the boot over my thick left ankle.

    2. If these boots came in a wide width, they'd be perfect for my left foot. I usually wear a 7.5W or 8M, so I ordered these in an 8. It's a snug fit on my wide left foot, but not vice-grip tight. I don't find the 8 to be too long on either foot: I don't stub or trip over the toes while walking around.

    3. Got short legs? Me too: I'm 5'0". These will fit like proper knee length boots on you. In the front, the tongue hits 1" below my knee. On the front sides, the boot hits 2" below my knee. In the back, the boot dips to about 3" below the back of my knee.

    4. I love how lightweight these boots feel. I'm a big fan of Columbia's Minx Mid boots (I own 2 old pairs) but they're not tall enough, even on my short legs. These Hime boots aren't as flexible in the sole as the Minx Mids, but they do have the same light, almost sneaker-like feel. They're not clunky or heavy on my feet at all, so I'll likely feel sure footed on snow and ice.

    5. The tongue is gusseted only at the very bottom of the shaft. I like that the tongue is unattached everywhere else. Better to adjust for fit that way.

    6. The footbed is very comfy. I'm a runner who wishes all shoes and boots were as cushy as my running shoes (without being overly soft/squishy), so I really appreciate the EVA cushioning in these boots.

While I wait for the chance to test these boots in a Chicago winter (or maybe a chilly fall), I'll wear them around the house to see if I can break the left boot in a bit, to better fit my wide left foot. These are the first cold weather boots I've tried in a long time that are actually knee high on me, lightweight, and fit my calves with no trouble. And they look great! So I'm definitely keeping them.

    Cute boots

    • Size Bought: 9.5

I haven't tested these out in the cold yet, but they seem warm and durable. I was worried that the shaft was not going to fit around my calves (~17"), but surprisingly they did! I also ordered a 1/2 size down based on other reviews. I normally wear a size 10 in athletic shoes, but purchased these in 9.5 and they fit perfect.

    Cool winter kicks

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Warm comfy and cute. Feel really secure on snow and ice with great tread. Perfect length for snowy days. Also very light weight!

    Awesome boots

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I love these boots. They look fashionable but are super comfy (my #1 priority in footwear!). They are perfect over leggings, skinny jeans or even with a winter dress. The "fluffy" part is too big to fit under regular jeans. They do run a little big... I generally wear a 8 - 8.5. I ordered the 8.5 because I figured that I'd wear thick socks with them. They are a tad big, but I just lace them up tighter.

    Deeez boots doeee!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I'd say that these run about a half size larger than your normal shoe (i.e; gravis/vans/or any type of flat/slip-on shoe). I'm pretty much always a 6.5 or a 7.0 depending on the brand and style of shoe, bought 7.0's in these and they fit perfectly.

These are easily the most comfortable boots I've ever put on my feet. They're waterproof to just above the ankle bone, and the side zip makes it easy to get in and out of the boot rather than having to deal with all of the struggles that a slip-on entails.

    Highly recommended.

    Best boots ever

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

These boots are warm, stylish, have a great tread and are exactly what I was looking for. I work and live in Vail, CO - a mountain community, so I needed a boot that was safe to wear on ice and snow, yet stylish. This boot hit the mark!

Salomon Hime High Winter Boot Women's

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

These boots fit like a running shoe. They are super comfortable and fit like a sock, yet are really warm and great on cold days. They are fashionable, yet functional. Run a little big.

    Nice boots

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

Very, very warm snow boots for a snowy winter! Nice fit, comfortable, and cute! These boots run large though so I ended up returning my initial order and exchanging into a smaller size.

    Unanswered Question

I want to buy a pair of cute winter boots and I love the look of these Salomon boots, but we live in Alabama so I don't want boots that are too warm. Are these made primarily to be worn in freezing temps?
