    Step up your skate skiing.

If you're looking for an all-around training ski capable of accompanying you on your pre-work grinds and your regular training sessions, don't let your search take up valuable hours when you could be spending your time on snow. Enjoy fast kicks, consistent glide, and a stable feel across a wide range of snow conditions in Salomon's Equipe 8 Skate Ski. In Salomon's Equipe lineup, the Equipe 8 logically falls between the Equipe 9, built for club racers and elite fitness trainers, and the Equipe 7, developed with beginner to intermediate skiers in mind. If you're upgrading from an intro set of planks and are looking to take your kicks and glides to the advanced level, the Equipe 8 was made just for you.

Though the Equipe 8 doesn't count itself as a feathery light race ski, it still has a responsive, energetic feel on the snow. Part of this comes from Salomon's Densolite 3000 core, which consists of foam wrapped in a carbon and fiberglass matrix, giving it an ideal blend of lightness, stiffness, and efficiency. Equipe 8 sports Salomon's G4 Zeolit base with a race universal grind, which is created using a low-pressure stone grind that's designed to hold wax and glide consistently in a wide range of conditions. The Equipe 8's Powered camber profile provides the raised midsection you need for powerful kicks and fast glides, and the ski's Javelin sidecut complements the camber with grip and stability.

    • Build strength and speed on this everyday ski
    • Designed with intermediate to advanced skiers in mind
    • Densolite core establishes a light and lively feel
    • Bases ground to glide consistently in a range of conditions
    • Camber profile provides stability as you kick and glide

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    Hey folks,
Sizing skate skis generally goes by weight of the skier (with an asterisk for skier ability, higher level skiers may prefer longer skis for greater glide).

Here is the size recommendation from Salomon.

    174cm :88-121lbs
    179cm: 110-143lbs
    186cm: 132-165lbs
    191cm: 154-198lbs

What does "powered camber" mean in the Salomon Equipe 8 skate ski. I'm looking for a ski with a lot of camber. The Atomic Pros I just purchased ski really flat and don't have much kick and hardly any camber.

    Hi Rich,
The Salomons have a pretty substantial camber to the ski. The Equipe 8 is not as stiff as their other offerings (Salomon does have "Extra Stiff" ski models in both the RS Skate and Equipe 8), but does have more of a camber to it than the Atomic Pros.
    Hope that helps!
