The week's tasks are running on a loop in our head, so we lace up the Cross Pro 2 and take to the trail for a few mind-clearing miles. The aggressive, self-cleaning lugs bite into the soft earth, still wet from yesterday's rain, while the snug knit collar stops grime from sneaking in. Our feet flex freely within the resilient construction while bounding up steeps and avoiding debris. As we charge around switchbacks, the exo-skeleton hugs our foot, locking it over the ultralight platform, and the updated heel counter keeps our stride on track, staving off minor rolls. Back at our doorstep with a clear head and runner's high-induced inspiration, we quickly pull slack into the drawcord laces and get to work.

The Cross /Pro was better.
Way too narrow, stiff, and uncomfortable. Insufficient cushioning, not enough of a heel cup, and too hard of a toe box/upper. I ordered the 13 because I thought the 14 would be too long (I usually wear a 13 and there was no 13.5) but after trying and feeling the shoe, I didn't want to try the 14. The Cross /Pro was the best shoe made by Salomon, could do everything, and was far superior to the Pro 2. I feel that this company has been declining significantly every year.
