Bonatti WP Jacket
Don't let the weather dictate when and where you can run. The Salomon Bonatti WP jacket handles the worst weather when you get stuck in the rain, or when you just need to get out in uncooperative weather. The 2.5 layer waterproof shell sheds water with ease when it's practically raining sideways, and the fabric still stays breathable enough to ventilate heat out during high intensity activities. Throw on the hood for extra weather protection, and reflective accents help make you a little more visible before the sunrise or after the sunset. The chest pocket secures small items, and also functions as a stow-away pocket that the jacket can pack into for traveling, or adventuring with a pack.

I'll admit, I was hesitant to drop $150 (before reduced price) on a rain jacket when there seemed to be all sorts of 20 or 30 dollar options on Amazon, but I'm glad I shelled out the cash for the higher quality. This jacket is almost paper thin, but feels extremely durable, not like some trash-bag poncho. I wanted a jacket solely for the purpose of blocking rain during the spring and summer; I've already got appropriate gear for the cold winters. This jacket does just that and keeps you at a good temperature in the process. Even though there's not an awful lot of ventilation throughout the jacket, you manage to avoid cooking inside of it. However, it still does block out cold wind and rain, so in 30-40 degree rainstorms, you'll do fine with just this jacket and a tech t-shirt underneath. The elastic hood is a godsend; you didn't care about that when I bought it, but realized halfway through the run how thankful I was that the hood wasn't blowing off every time a gust of wind came. The strap across the chest is great too; when it gets a little sweaty in the jacket during a long run and when the rain slows down, you can zip it down and cool off without the jacket flopping around everywhere. Just be warned though, it is a very athletic fit. i.e. tight. I'm 5'8'' and 138 lbs, and the small fits me just fine. However, if I wanted to wear multiple layers underneath it, it may be a little too snug for my liking (which I don't plan to do anytime soon; i'll just wear a winter jacket if need be). So if you like to wear a lot of clothes underneath the jacket, I'd recommend sizing up. If you plan on just wearing a longsleeve or short sleeve shirt and you like a slim-fitting jacket, I'd go with your regular size, or the size down if you're on the fence.
