Why We Like The ADV Skin 5L Set Hydration Vest

We're gearing up for our next ultra with the low-profile Salomon ADV Skin 5L Set Hydration Vest. It's got a compact and streamlined design, but still has all the storage we need for layers, nutrition, and hydration when we're deep into your race with not an aid station in sight. Dual pockets on either side hold included soft flasks, giving you quick access to water, electrolyte mixes, or one of each. The back kangaroo pocket is also compatible with a 1.5L reservoir for even more hydration capacity, while large stretch pockets on the shoulder straps keep packable rain shells, headbands, and running hats close by. Add in the benefits of Motion Fit technology for a fit that feels more like a piece of apparel than a running pack, and you'll be able to keep your mind focused and free from distractions.

Absolutely the best vest I have ever owned. It feels like it is part of your body rather than something you are wearing. Worth the $?s.

Versatile Pack

I bought the Adv Skin 5 a few months ago, and am really enjoying it. I was debating between the Sense Ultra 5 Set vs the Adv Skin, and decided to go with Adv Skin for the materials. In my opinion they appear to be more durable, but only time will tell. It fits snuggly against my body with no bounce. I'm 6'2" 210 lbs with a 43" chest and the XL fits perfect. I tend to use it on my weekly long run. Longest so far was a 20 mile trail run. The Adv Skin is very comfortable, and I haven't experienced any chaffing. I can barely tell its there. It can hold a surprising amount of stuff. I packed it with 4-5 goos, 2 x soft flasks, bladder, rain jacket, hat, gloves, phone, headphones, and a little TP, with room to spare. On the front is a zip pocket for my phone plus room to spare. Two pockets for the included 17oz soft flasks. Then left and right stretchy pouches. The right pouch has a small garbage sleeve for used goo packets...so smart. There is a stretchy continuous kangaroo pouch from right side, behind, and to the left side. Then the back has two compartments. One for storage, the other a dedicated water bladder pouch. The pack came with a insulated bladder sleeve, but no bladder. I purchased one separately, and find I prefer to run with it over the soft flasks. It holds more water. The soft flasks are difficult to get in and out, It is also difficult to get the last bit of water out a flask. So glad I bought this pack. Its worth every penny. I wish I would have bought one years ago, and would buy again tomorrow.
