Allows experienced casters to notch exceptional casts with regularity.

You practice, fish hard, spend hours on the river, and have paid your dues, so it's no wonder you use the Sage Method 4-Piece Fly Rod. Built on Sage's Konnetic technology, the Method produces high line speeds and tight loops for extreme distance and wind-cutting casts all while maintaining critical accuracy and feel. Konnetic technology uses an advanced modulus positioning system by which Sage precisely aligns carbon fibers to exacting tolerances for optimal performance in the blank. In addition, Sage's layup process features a high compression molding process wherein carbon fibers are compressed for optimal density in a narrow diameter blank, with a carbon inner core that's 50% lighter than previous rod cores. As a result, Sage is able to deliver the Method—an ultra fast action fly rod that's able to punch through the wind and carry the biggest, bulkiest, heaviest flies in your box out to where they can work their magic.

The magma red-colored shaft of the Method is complemented by rust-colored primary thread wraps and pewter trim wraps. Fuji ceramic stripping guides and robust guide sets round out the features of this high-end rod series. Its freshwater series (4-6wt) features a snub-nose, half-wells grip while the Method's saltwater series (6-10wt) has a full-wells grip with fighting butt. For protection during transport and storage, the Method comes with a black rod sock and a fusion red powder-coated rod tube with a silver-colored medallion and gloss black end caps.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got a chance to use the Sage Method 9 ft. 10 wt. this past weekend. I went to Louisiana for redfish, drum fish, speckled sea trout and sheep fish. The rod was paired with a sage 6200 reel and Scientific Angler Wavelength Grand Slam 10wt floating line. In summary we killed it with this setup bring 25 redfish, 1 drum and 2 speckled trout into the boat over the course of 2 days it was epic. The largest was a 30 lb. drum that even I couldn’t lift into the boat and the Sage Method handled it like a champ. It is a fast action rod and paired with the SA tropical line, it just spit that line out even with very short hauls. After two days of slaying hogs you would think that I would be sore but it seems that the rod did most of the work! We were chucking 3-4” streamers all day long with ease. There were a few instances where I thought the rod was toast because the fish would come right up under the boat and I’d have to follow them around the edges. There were even a couple moment where I though the rod was done for because a few times on the 1st day I was casting from the middle of the boat while my buddy casted from the bow and two times while hauling I wasn’t paying attention and smacked the rod full speed into the push pole that the guide was using. After the 2nd time, I just waited my turn to cast from the bow. And for the next day and a half the rod fought the same as it did first cast and first fight. I would highly recommend this rod to salt anglers who enjoy sight casting to fatty fatso fish, I’m 100% happy with this rod.

Great company great rod!

I have a 9' 7wt and it throws 6in double hook streamers like nothing. Wind is no problem you could fish in a tornado and your line will still punch through and get where it has to be. I've caught 18 inch Browns to 28 pound carp(carp aren't called the poor mans bonefish for nothing) and gnar rod preformed awesome
