Summit Trex
Whether your dog needs protection for his two front paws because he only walks in a handstand, or you just need a replacement pair, the RuffWear Pair of Summit Trex has you and Fido covered. Their non-marking outsole is built to last through long days on the trail, yet is flexible from the start so your furry buddy doesn't have to break them in his own way(breaking in usually involves a significant amount of chewing and clawing). The Summit Trex's lower material protects your dog's pads, while the upper polyester is PU-coated so no unwanted moisture irritates the rest of your dog's paw. Plus, the reflective trim helps you see your pup's running feet in low-light situations.

Dew Claw Destroyer
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Fit:
- True to size
I wanted to love these I really did and I tried so many ways to get them to work but they absolutely hammer my dogs dew claws and rub them raw no matter what I do including playing with sizing and socks. They work great on the back feet but that defeats the purpose if they are only wearing them there. Super bummed.

Pretty Good Non-Slip For Our Older Dog
Ordered these for our 16 year old Aussie who is slipping a lot on our tiled floor. As other reviewers have noted, it takes a while for the dog to get used to having them on; and I can't say ours is thrilled. But they ARE helping with her slippage. Dinged them 1 star because they are not 100% non-slip, but enough to warrant having gotten them. Good idea to strap them on tight, so they don't fall off "in transit' or if the pup tries to bite them off at first.

Awesome pad protectors
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought two sets of these because the quad pair was sold out at the time but my doodle loves them! At first, he didn't but he got used to them. Originally bought them because he has fur coming out around the pads of his paws and snow clumps up after 20 minutes of tromping in the snow... and then the rest of our trip he's biting at his paws to get the bunched up snow out. These solve that problem perfectly and the bright green is easier to spot in the wooded areas.

Snow Punching boots
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Based on my measurements of his paws, I thought heâd need a medium but after trying them on I returned and got the medium and got small for his front and XS for the rear. They stay on surprisingly well, even pouncing through the snow (with the exception of the loss of one boot when coming back up a steep incline through about a foot and a half of new snow). I would recommend getting the socks with these booties, at least for the front paws, as Ridley ended up with these rubbing on his dew claw and causing one foot to bleed at that spot.

Perfect Pupper Boots!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
My mini aussie loves to go on ski tours with me and we've run into the problem of large balls accumulating on his feet and can be really uncomfortable for him. These boots have been his saving grace and have made our tours much more bearable. Quite humorous having him get used to them :) I measured his feet using their sizing guide and realized he had two two different sizes on the front and back so I ended up ordering and XS and S. Great boots!

Bummed
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I have 2 Lhasa poo's who backpack with me, both carrying their own pack. On our last trip one of the dogs cut her pad and was unable to carry her pack. I so wanted these to work but even a 4xs are too big and they slid off. They are well made and I have no doubt that they work so I am bummed.

My pups paw pads say, thank you!
Yes, they take some time for your pup to get used to them. I found playing my pups favorite games and lots of treat rewards while practicing wearing these in the house was the recipe for success. My pup did best with four rather than two.

I only returned because I didn't accurately judge my small doggies paw size. But great product. Very durable looking.

Small Dog-Big Fan
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
My small dog was a rescue from the South. Among other issues with winter, cold paws are her main qualm (see also: precipitation, cold car rides, salt roads, less things to smell under the snow). I picked up the Summit Trex as we were using Musher's Paw, but needed something a bit more substantial for her. She has *tiny* paws and legs proportional to her body. I followed Ruffwear's sizing guidelines (of measuring her paws) and ordered both the 2" and 2.25" for her rear, and front feet respectively. With her very narrow legs, I ended up exchanging for even smaller sizes, the 2" and 1.75" to better fit her slim paws. These are a great option for winter protection to summer trail use, to protect our pets from beating up their paws.

I have an 8lb shih tzu with tiny paws. I don't have a way to measure his paws but I think he needs the 4X SM. I cannot order that size... help? If they don't fit him am I able to return them? Thanks!

What are the dimensions of each size? How are you supposed to know which size to get if it doesn't tell you how big they are??

Hey Jade! I am so sorry about that, it looks like we didn't like the sizing guide to this page. I will get that fixed ASAP! I also posted a video on how to measure your dog's foot as well. In the meantime, I went ahead and attached a picture of the sizing guide to this response. Contact me directly if you have any more questions!

We got the rear paw pads one size smaller than the front ones, and are glad we did FWIW.
