Keep your pup warm when you head out to play in the snow together with the Ruffwear Quinzee Insulated Dog Jacket. Whether you're camping, ski touring, or just going for a walk, the lightweight synthetic insulation will help your dog stay cozy, and the water-resistant fabric repels snow and light rain so the jacket doesn't get soggy. The vest style makes it easy to put on and take off, and it allows your dog to still run and play freely. An integrated stuff sack makes it easy to stow away on camping trips, and reflective trim helps Fido stay visible on nighttime walks. The self-locking neck zipper provides a custom fit for different dog shapes so it will fit comfortably whether your pup is a heeler or a hound.

    Fit my dogs well, but...

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are great for my dogs - they fit well (my dogs weigh around 10 lbs) and they don't have velcro, which is important for my dogs. But, they don't have a hole for the leash to go through, so they don't work for my needs.

    Runs Very Large

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I usually get my dog size Small jackets but ordered this one in an XS based on the reviews. It was huge so I had to exchange it for an XXS. For reference, my dog is a 7lb Shih Tzu/Poodle mix.

    Runs Large

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My dog fits perfectly into the Large Ruffwear swamp cooler vest, but this Large size was a little large on her. It's super warm though and my dog is able to move easily,, without any restrictions.

    Good coverage, warmth, and packability

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have a 65-70lbs golden retriever. If we are moving, she doesn't need a jacket, but when we stop, even she can get cold. I initially bought a medium which was way to small, a large fits well. The jacket extends way further down her back than I expected (good). There is a zipper around the neck which can get hair caught in it, but also seems to help it fit better. There isn't a good way to put a harness underneath, but layering on top (which Ruffwear recommends) is ok. It packs down far better than I expected. Oh, and everyone gets a kick out of my dog having a puffy jacket.

    Pups best friend

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this with my dog for a few weeks now and she loves it. The added insulation helps keep her warm on those colder days and even if she gets wet it will still keep her warm. The sizing is pretty true to size and there are elastic straps for the chest area which helps by not restricting their movement and is a little more comfortable for her. Just make sure to get an accurate measurement of their chest to find the best size.

    Small Dog Takes on Winter

My pup is a southern gal, picked up as a rescue from Oklahoma. While she’s made huge progress in the last couple years, she is still not a fan of cold weather. And as we live in Utah, I needed a jacket for this pup so we can continue our routine of morning hikes and wanders.

The Quinzee Jacket is beautifully designed and easy to fine tune the fit for your pup. After debating sizing for my 30#, 26.5” girth dog, I went with the size small. It fits her well around the neck and length-wise, and is able to be cinched down around the middle to stay in place.

The quilting of the jacket helps it to lay flat and stay comfortable when she goes from car to trail to romping in the backyard. I really like the vest-style of the jacket, as it’s easier to get on and off than having to get her tiny legs through a shirt-style.

The reflective stripe on the back is also super helpful for when Smalls takes a wander in the dark, making her easy to spot and retrieve.

I’d recommend this jacket for any dog with a thinner coat, living in a cold climate. It is very insulated, so I usually keep it for the 35* and below days.

    I wanted to love it!

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I literally spent a week trying to find a cheaper jacket that could compare to this for my 14# chiweenie. Coming up short, I bit the bullet and ordered an XS. The XS was just a bit too big, but the length was great for his long body. I returned it for the XXS, which would probably fit dogs 10# and under. The chest area was just a little too snug, and it left a good 10 inches of his back exposed, which was what we were trying to avoid.
This jacket is AMAZING quality and has a good weight to it but at this price point it needs to be perfect. I really wish it would have worked out! My pup is just awkward I guess.

    Good jacket

I really liked this jacket but ended up returning it. I got the smallest size and it was really long on my dog so we went with a different style. I really like the brands products though!

    Keeps my Dogs Warm!

I love this insulated jacket. I bought one for my miniature dachshund. We spend the summers in Alaska, and Winters in Utah so we are usually in colder temps. This is great for hiking and backpacking trips. I also slip it on him anytime he is cold. He loves running in the snow with this on. I also bought two more for my Parent's dachshunds as well!

Since all dogs are different shapes and sizes, I recommend measuring your dog and referring to the size chart for the best size.

Another thing to note, this is great for my boy dog. The cut underneath is great so when he pees nothing gets on the jacket

      Awesome!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave this as a gift to a friend who always brings her dog camping with us. The dog just had a haircut and the nights were still chilly. Pup was happy as can be and looked great too!

Best Lil Puppy Puffy Out There

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I actually first looked at purchasing the Powder Hound jacket from Ruffwear for a small dog (~25 lbs). I ended up going with this one, and am not disappointed at all. This jacket has nice insulation across the back and chest to keep your furry friend nice and toasty. This jacket also has nice openings around the front legs for maximum doggy mobility. This one is a winner!

      Awesome winter jacket

My 55 lb border collie mix fits well in the size medium. It stays on well (so much better than other jackets!) due to the side clasps around the torso and the neck zip. The neck zip doesn't completely zip open/apart, which is key for staying on. Also, it covers her whole back, neck to tail. She has been visibly warmer and more comfortable, and doesn't try to take it off or scratch at it. It seems pretty water resistant in snow. She even sleeps in it when camping in cold temps. Super cute!

        Great jacket

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

XXSmall fit my Yorkie well (she is 12-13 inches neck to base of tail, with a 14.5 inch girth.) Keeps her warmer used on top of her fleece or cloud chaser (depending on how wet it is outside.) Easy to put on, once you get used to the clips. Typical Ruffwear high quality.
Wish Ruffwear made something like the cloud chaser (totally waterproof--powder hound is not) but with insulation over the entire body (for cold-natured dogs in a wet Virginia climate like mine....)

        Mixed review

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Returning XXS Quiznee. Body length okay. Stats on neck was 11.2". Zach's neck is 10.5 loose. Maybe we received a defective coat. My concerns were the following: 1. Tight around neck. If kept unzipped, it fit. 2. Zipper at neck (besides being tight) only had nylon material coverage; no padding. For a small dog the zipper was large/bulky, and made of metal. 3. Side buckles are too large/thick to be on this size coat. If Zach were to lay on his side, it would be very, very uncomfortable. There is no padding on underside of buckle area; just sheet of nylon. If your little one has a lot of hair, then it may work. As for warmth, it only covers the back, and some coverage on sides. Body is easy on/off; connect/release buckles. May require unzipping before can get head through comfortably.

        Best winter dog coat. Ever.

Bought it on backcountry.com after trying 3 other brands over the past few winters. Outstanding quality and design combine to make this dog coat the one that you will truly be glad that you bought. Way, way worth the extra cost above the crowd of "meh" competitors. The combined chest and underside slips over the head and then the underside snap-clips in seconds to a concealed matching clip on each side. Our vizslas love the heaver insulation for the Chicago winter. Quality stitching lets us know that this one will last for years! Stop looking; this is the one to buy.

HI j.lp15365! We bought size Medium for both dogs. When he is sitting, the smaller of the two dogs is about 30 inches from top of the head to where the tail joins the body (so excluding the tail). Hope this helps.
