Beyond Expectations

I researched a lot of cooling vests for my all black German Shepherd. The Ruffwear Jet Stream Vest by far had the best reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. As long as you following the sizing chart, it will fit perfectly. Easy to wet and easy to put on. I live in MD so it can get pretty hot/humid. I have not wrung my vest out to give my dog the ultimate cooling experience. He still acts like he's hot while walking but when we come home, he does not act like he is going to die. He recovers pretty easily and quickly and my dog does not let me take his vest off until well after we have come back from our walk.

The large openings on the XS make it easy to put in my dog but like another reviewer mentioned, it’s like there is not much chest cooling. I soaked the vest and put it on my dog a few times recently. On one occasion, I was surprised at how long it took him to start panting, given it was 96F and there was no shade. Once we made it back to the car after 30 min, the vest was completely dry. If there was more material, it may have stayed cooler a little longer although battling 96F is a challenge regardless. We drove home with the AC on.
