    Life Changing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used to grimace every time my dog would jump in my car. Now I don't! This cover is protecting my leather seats from my dirty wet dog and from her nails! There is a pocket where you can stash balls, leashes, etc. Super easy to "install" (essentially just throw over the seats).

    Dog Owners Rejoice

I have a sedan so my dogs have to ride in the backseat. This cover was easy to setup and seems to be offering good protection for my car. I have 2 60lb dogs that get wet, dirty and shed (sometimes all at once!) so seat protection is a must. The multiple setup options are nice as well -- either setup flat across the seat or like a hammock. Plus the pocket that the whole cover fits into is great and visible once the cover is actually on your backseat - you can fit poop bags, a collapsible bowl, whatever you need.

      No more excuses

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We recently bought a new to us car that had an immaculate interior. Had. I take my dogs dirty places, my husband doesn't love that so I detailed the car one last tome and bought this seat cover, no more excuses to not have fun and not worry about the seats.

      Awesome Cover

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like this cover a lot. Fits great in the backseat of my Subaru. I wish it had a few more secure points, but overall it still stays pretty well and keeps dirt, hair, etc off my seats.

Dirt Bag Seat Cover - Solid

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Overall this is a solid seat cover. It fits the back seat of our 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk perfectly, was incredibly easy to install and fasten. And most importantly it keeps all the dirt, mud, sand, etc off the seat fabric. However, some moisture build up does happen between the cover and the seats if our dog is really wet.
For what it is, it's a really solid seat cover. If you want insulation or something with more padding to protect your seat, or zero moisture build up... well this one isn't it. If you want something lightweight, super quick to install, and keep the dirt and grime from your dog off your fabric, it's great.
For reference: Our dog is 35LBs; you can see him on my review of the Ruffwear Cloud Chaser Jacket for actual size.

Could do with some more securing

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This never leaves one of our vehicles because of how handy it is. I've had no problems with durability, the only gripe I have is that the part that sits over the side of the seat isn't very heavy and doesn't have any way to secure it around the side of the seats. This can result it in shifting to the left or right, depending on how active your dog is going from window to window (especially if you have slippery leather seats).

      Keep your interior clean

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this for our 5 year old Boxer/Lab mix and have been very satisfied with the product.

      - Easy installation and removal
      - Seat belt access slots make it easy to use with car seats and passengers
      - Storage pouch for leash, bags, treats, etc.
      - Keep your seats clean(er)!

Easy to use protection from fur

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We got one of these for both of our cars, and have had both for about a month. Easy to install, keeps all hair off and water beads off. Plus the color matches our blue heeler!

      So so

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just bought a brand new Subaru Forester with leather/cloth on the seats. I felt nervous with my lab who is 1 1/2 years, and about 90 pounds being in the backseat. The seat cover is much thinner than expected especially considering the price (-star). After my first use the flaps on the side came up top exposing the leather trim on the seats which may have been punctured by nails (-star). Before I put my lab back in the car, I was lucky to have the perfect width seat and ability to tuck the side flaps between it and the base. This will not be the case in every car. Also the cover does not protect any part of the door that may have leather as well (-star). More than anything, I will use this before installing a hitch/bike tray to cover the back side of my folded down rear seat as a cover beneath a dirty mountain bike inside my car. I'm disappointed for what I paid even with a 20% discount. If it was 1/2 the cost I wouldn't be as disappointed. I will say the hammock option is nice as the cover will not slide down the back or front seat headrest (+star), but I'm sure a thick blanket with some scotchgard could be improvised in a much better way for a fraction of the price with a little sewing of a handle. However, compared to a blanket, the aesthetics of this cover does look nice in relation to the fabric of my vehicle. Now this is coming from a guy with a new car so perhaps this review is harsh. Then again if there is less concern about the side of your seat being exposed and possibly punctured this may be a good option for you. If you're dog is 50lbs or less and you have leather seats, I'm sure you will not find indentation of nails from the protection of this cover. I'm sure due to the weight of my dog I will find leather indentation from the claws of my pooch due to the thinness of the cover. A message to Ruffwear: "Keep the price, but thicken the fabric. Include an adhesive velcro that you can attach to your seat base and cover to help the side flap stay in place for all vehicles. Create part of the cover to defend your door as well."

      Mud Savior

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Really love taking my dogs for hikes but have made the mistake of loading them into my backseat with muddy paws time and time again. This seat cover makes these trips so much more convenient and has saved me a ton of time cleaning my seats off afterwards. Also is super easy to put up and take down

      Keeping it clean

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She just bought a brand new car and has a 10 year old yellow lab that sheds terribly. I wanted to protect the new black upholstery from yellow Daisy hairs. This works like a charm. Great options for having it up on the front seat backs creating a hammock for the pup, or down to allow for more movement. A single zippered pocket on the drivers side also allows for leash and poop baggy storage for easy access on the way to the trails!

Saves the seats, dogs are happy

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I just bought a new Subaru. I love letting my dog jump in the back for walks and hikes. But I don't want the dirty paws all over the seat. The Dirt Bag Seat Cover saved us! It's easy and fits really nicely and firmly over the seat. I haven't tried to fold it up again, that could be difficult. But for know I could be happier. I'm buying one for my wife right now.

My dirtbag loves her dirt bag

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I adopted my puppy the same year I finally decided to get a new car. Thankfully, the dirtbag has kept little dirty paws off my upholstery. She loves nuzzling into the hammock between the back seats and the front. Only complaint is that the side flaps don't have anything to hold them in place, so sometimes they fold up. Not a big deal, but if they were weighted or rigid they'd probably work better. All told, I'd still highly recommend it!

      Seat-Saver

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We recently moved into the heart of downtown Seattle, a week after adding a 3 month-old pup to our family. He's an active little guy, and getting him out of the city to some wide open spaces is quite a commute. I am convinced it's in the how-to-be-a-dog guidebook that after you swim you must roll around in dirt/sand/charcoal/dead bugs. Luckily our Ruffwear Seat Cover protects our brand new seats, and allows our little GWP to romp the rural-lands of Seattle.

Allows you the option of strapping the bottom of the cover up to the driver & passenger headrests, creating a little bucket. Also has slit-openings for seat belt use.

      very nice!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This fit perfectly in our Subaru Forester and is saving the seats! We live a pretty active lifestyle and our little dog can get pretty dirty. The seat cover is pretty simple to install and removes just as easily. It is waterproof, which makes for easy cleanup. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their seats clean.

Good fit for SUV, great product!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have one of these in my 4Runner and love it. I have a four month old pup that's essentially a Golden / St. Bernard / Great Pyrenees / Newfoundland mix. So, he will be huge and loves mud, dirt, creeks, etc. and we hike about 4-5 times a week. This stays in place well (fits the seat of the 4Runner perfect!), seems to be good quality material, and I like the option to have it as a hammock for longer trips. It is no problem to use the seat belts either since there are slits. I also like the part that covers the side of the seat since my puppy would otherwise get that part filthy getting in the car! Would buy again but I expect this to last!
