By incorporating feedback from Royal Racing's pro athletes, the Men's Race Pant is designed to meet the needs of a modern racer. 4-way stretch rip-stop construction ensures maximum freedom of movement, and reacts by stretching rather than tearing during a crash, saving your skin and improving the pant's durability. The Race Pants are DWR-treated to shed mud and water during spring and fall conditions, and feature a raised rear panel and stretch yoke for a stable and comfortable fit. Two zippered pockets store snacks or small tools, and the waistband features a simple ratchet closure that allows easy one-handed adjustment.

C- design: poor fit & breathability

Cons: - Royal's sizing chart is *way* off and cut of pant is less than ideal: pants pucker at knee and catch quite a bit of wind due to baggy design - heavy face fabric w/ mediocre stretch also breathes poorly in spite of laser perforation: *not* for hot climates! - lack of stretch at waist & rigid zipper at fly forces you to buy bigger, baggier size and cinch down w/ ratchet buckle. - legs are cut wider than competing designs w/ stretchier fabrics, but pants still hard to pull on and off due to lack of stretch at ankle. I am a true 33 waist, so I ordered a Medium, but couldn't even zip up the fly all the way due to rigid waistband & zipper combo. This is a massive fail: the competition has figured out that if you use a ratchet buckle (or even a snap), you *do not need* a zippered fly, you simply add a fabric baffle, so the ratchet can do its job of getting waist exactly as tight or loose as needed. Ordered the Large, which I could actually zip up and also offered better length of coverage all the way to ankle-bone when on the bike. Took a back to back test-spins around neighborhood vs my size 32 Fox Defend Kevlar pants: Royal's pants lost on all meaningful fronts: they breathed worse, flapped in the wind more, and stretched less.
